but to be completely honest, playing at TGA is not AE practice in any sense. nobody actively plays this game in the USA, so it’s just a bunch of people doing random things…and losing to CE Bison. it’s not practice in any sense.
the only real way to practice for AE is to fly to Japan and get a crash course. that’s it. there’s just no other way. why do you think Tokido used the lamest CE Bison ever and got so far at EVO? Because Japan is the only place playing this game, period. nobody was ready for that nonsense.
if there is no ST at the next tga ranbat, i might not come. no offense to andy or gavin or anyone, but if i’m forced to play an inferior game and learn nothing, and get no real practice in, i dont think its worth the looooong trip. so i guess we’ll have to see what happens.

Even with just Team Hate and other randoms entering the tournament, I would struggle to finish in the top five. Melty Blood may or may not be easy, but I am certainly terrible at it.

The only way to get better is to play the game mang. If you enjoy fighting games, go. Win or lose, for me at least, it’s about having fun. If I get trashed and don’t even rank, that just drives me to get better.
When I lost to Moeun at the first ranbat, I practiced like a mofo. Since then, I haven’t gotten quite the same drive to practice because nobody has really beat me besides my room mate, and NerdJosh in AC…which would have driven me more if it was Slash but since I had only played AC like twice it didn’t mean much.
So, I say go. It’s about having a good time, not winning. I’d rather have a really close match than just trash somebody 3-0. Example: Me vs. Tony B at the last one was off the fucking hook. Every match was neck and neck, and it came down to me Bandit Revolvering him out of a jump on game 5 round 3. It was a great match. Tony didn’t want to enter AC because he thought he would just lose and he got 2nd, lol.
Anyways, GO!!! is my point.
And on that note, I’m taking MM’s for any amount up to 100$ in GGAC, or Slash. I’ll bring Slash incase anyone wants to practice for EVO.
I will also take 5$ MMs, best of 3, in Third Strike.
All I’m saying is that if I have to play someone from the camp in the 3rd round of winners I’m stabbing the first 20 people I see.
