nah man you arent reading it right. tga was doing good it was all set up just like andy needed and he didnt even have someone running the bowling to bring money in, yet. the flood is what caused this not the situation. shit was good until the pipes froze

I made a long post over on the TGA site, but I’ll sum it up here.
TGA - You can take away the building and the games, but you can’t kill the spirit. It might take years, but I’m pretty sure TGA will be back in some form. There’s no way this goes down without a fight.

This is so sad. TGA was the best arcade on the EC hands down. I’ll definitely be supporting Andy and Chie’s cause come May.
Hey Gavin, quick question… did andy have flood insurance?.. or any other kind of insurance for situations like this?
…yeah the paypal idea sounds good to me too… even if we dont reach the half a millie, I dont think anybody would mind coming out of pocket a little bit for this cause. I mean, Im in NYC and I never get to go back up to tga… but I was an avid suporter when tga was in woonsocket. I remember encouraging James to take weekly trips up there even though the drive always sucked… once you were there, shit was too good!
Andy seriously man, let us send some money and try to help… plz, even if tga gets closed, you guys deserve a little “pension” pay if you will…

I’ve only been to the TGA once, but that one time really got me hooked into the arcade environment and made me want to be more involved in the community.
Whether it be fundraiser or auction I’ll be there and hope I can help Andy out.

TGA was more than a home to all of us. I met mad cool peepz too many to name. TGA was unlike any other arcade i’ve been to.
I just wish there was some way for TGA to actually come back.

I heard rumors that some people in the community think this is some sort of setup to have people give him money. How dare they and im going to call them out right here. If they got anything to say why not just come out and say it right here, right now cause id really like to see what would be said.

No need to call 'em out. I came across this last night working up a list of websites that have the closing of TGA mentioned.
These motherfuckers deserve to get fuckin’ mauled.
I just threw in five bucks via PayPal cause I felt terrible doing absolutely nothing.
I’ve only gone to TGA maybe three or four times, but it was really fun and introduced me whatever community Boston and the surrounding areas had. Andy worked too god damn hard and doesn’t deserve this kind of shit to happen.

Hey everyone, It’s Andy (using Gavin’s name as usual, guess that will have to change soon…lol)
At any rate, I do plan on writing up a nice thank you post when this is all said and done, but before that, I want to say thank you for all the kind words and your sincere feelings of wanting to reach out to Chie and I. I truly enjoyed serving everyone and it was an honor to be able to see everyone grow into fighters through TGA.
I understand times are tough, so please, please, please don’t feel obligated to donate any money. If you are truly interested in parts and such, then please show up at the auction.
If you really want to help, what would really be great, is just playing some games of SFIV and 3S down the road with me. Getting beasted on will be payment enough. That’s all I really want to do is play, just hanging out will be priceless and an honor.
To those that this this is fake, I wish it was. TGA was my life, I gave up everything to run TGA for the past 6 years. I took out loans left and right, and my family put up our home as collateral to buy the TGA building. Yes 500 grand is a lot of money, but in the scheme of business, when you are making consistent monthly payments it’s not a problem. But, when you go three months without income, the bills and loan payments don’t stop. Our reopening date would have been the summer, as the building needs major repairs. By then, 7 months of loan payments, with the economy, plus all the money to update all the new software would have made it impossible. Some of our stuff has already been re-possessed. It’s sad really.
I really don’t want anything that TGA does to cause friction in the fighting game community. My dream was to see the entire US scene united through fighting games. So don’t worry about donations, just please keep playing and stay strong, please try to reach out to everyone, even the people who don’t believe us, we’ll settle it through some matches in SFIV and 3S, I think that’s a better solution.
I’m going to lay low for a while, as I’m not in the best of spirits, but I’ll do some training and come to some ranbats and meeetups in the future hopefully.
Thank you again everyone, I enjoyed every minute that I was able to serve you. Chie feels the same. We love this community and want to see it grow, so please, please stay motivated, keep training!
