Outside of your hulking forearm, that’s pretty damn cool.

Hella awesome. Professional stuff! :wgrin:

Holy shit. That’s all I’ve got to say.

Bobby and Jin kissing. She’s getting stabbed in the process. i don’t know why, but a lot of people miss that part =/ i guess it’s too subtle.

Damn…that is crazy, do you draw comics? we should discuss some business

yo Tokoyama! after reading all 18 pages at once (wuhh) you’ve gone quite impressive. you inspiring me a lot. very dynamic skillz. i like it a lot. reminds me of UDON work. good shit! keep it coming!

very nice works!

thanks for the comments everyone!!

some of my earlier pages are pretty embarrassing =[ i noticed that i started this thread about a year ago. and i think i improved a lot since. just my opinion anyway

i might be interested. my top priority right now is school, but who knows

Here’s my latest concept for Phunny Bunny 4

http://oj.jellysickle.com/my%20stuff/PhunnyBunnyConceptColor.jpg

I think this is going to be her last design. I flattened her face a little and stretched it out vertically. Her outfit is a lot similar to her first, i just added a rock climbing harness and updated her sword. the color scheme is also a little different.

there’s a color key just incase anyone wants to do an art trade of some sort.

thats exactly what i am talking about. when i saw your first pics i was like “yea, the guy has some talent” but reading further and the time went on you could see how fast you were “growing” step-by-step. now its more like “wow hot shit!”. but of course there is always a plenty of space to improve so keep it up!

you yea! and just in case i forget to ask: do you also draw SNK? would be awesome to see a Terry or Rock from you!!

Wth is Phunny Bunny?
I hate bunny ears…
The sword makes me cringe. It doesn’t match at all–it seems like it’s from another universe.
The tie bugs me, also… tie pin? Is it pinned to her chest?
Rock climbing and rest of the outfit reminds me of Lara Croft. It’s pretty subtle, so I’d have to know the context in order to judge that better.
The color scheme is excellent, though I’d have to know more about her to know if it goes with her.
Anatomy is looking nice, but based on your past drawings, your hands are becoming a symbol or streamlined. It’s hard to differentiate the gender of the hands if they’re not huge and muscley like Guile’s.
She looks like my college sculpture teacher, who was also smokin’ so that’s a plus i think.
You (and many others who have a comic style) and myself suffer from a strange phenomenon that can detract from the line work.
My life drawing teacher told me that my drawings are held together nicely on the page, but that they are “pinned” in key locations all over. This can work nicely, but having stronger “anchors” as well as “pins” helps a lot.
Do you get that sort of “tired” feeling when looking at a piece of line work? This is because you see the same stroke over and over again a MILLION times. Look at the wrinkles/folds on the edge of the pants, now the sleeve, now the shirt, now the fingers, now the belly button. It’s all the same shape and same grade. Thick to thin. Further the range of line thickness is very low–around 2mm and lower. Change it up! Try making one side of the leg have like a 3-5mm thick line. Go the other way as well. Try omitting lines in the hair or on one arm. Try no tapering. Try several shifts in tapering in different directions in one stroke (very nice for the lower back). Even if its for a colored piece where the line work will take the backseat, variation in line and line shape is invaluable.
Repeated shapes in the hair are also bad. The left-hand drawing has very nice hair, and my guess is because you had to do something different in order to show off her body. This offered you up a new task and I would guess thats why it looks fresh. The other hair, it seems you merely cascaded a pattern down either side of her.
The lips are very appealing and expressive, though I hope they reflect a mood or personality rather than just being there to be hot. Same with they eyes.
Again, I’m very interested in the concept behind this. I feel there is a serious lack of concept in a lot of art I’ve seen lately.

For your work overall, I challenge you to use color in your line work as well. In conjunction with or separately from the previous challenge, I also challenge you to try and complete a drawing, in your style, without using the initial line work. I’d use it for the coloring process, but then in conjunction with the coloring, add new line work that compliments the coloring, shading, and mood that come from that process. This will hugely improve one some of your previous pieces, for I truly enjoy the coloring in them (though lay off the white for highlights and try using a very light complimentary or almost complimentary color) and the lines seem to hold them back.

wow, huge comment. thanks though, it’ll give me a lot to think about.
line variation depends on my inking not pencil work, but i understand where you’re coming from.

the concept of PhunnyBunny4 is based off my ex girl friend and always will be. i normally don’t color before touch up and inking, but the coloring’s only for art trade reference (if anyone’s up for it.) about the sword, i think the overall idea of the sword fits her character. but i think you’re commenting on the crossguard. it does look a little too futuristic, i’ll look into fixing that.

errr, and those challenges. tough, i have to admit. i’ll accept the -using color in my line work-
but i’m not sure about -completing a drawing without initial line work.-
i’m a cartoonist, there’s nothing else to do after linework. maybe coloring, but i hate coloring unless it’s something really personal.

Phat Boi’s second and simplified design for a mini comic i’m working on.

no jacket, not bombing equipment, no light source, no nothin’

There must have been miscommunication for I didn’t intend to NEVER use linework, especially in the beginning, i just meant for a challenge of overall incorporation of line (the design element) into your work.

you’re still asking me to NOT use line work as my backbone. but instead, incorporating it into my work after the sketch process is done. if i’m completely wrong, correct me =(

This picture is incredible! Should have rendered the cigarette I reckon it looks badass!

Hm, did I miss the final SF badguys group shot with colours? I must admit, just browsed this thread in brief right now, but saw some unfinished shots of you colouring the group sketch, and then it never came?

Awesome work in any case. Very impressive stuff. I have a few comments to some of them, but they seem to be old in any case (?) though, so…

no, i never finished it =p i never liked how i approached it.
i might get back to it someday, but not anytime soon =[
