Hey, allow me into interject for a moment on the subject of NYC and East Coast as well as CF. The scene is non-existent here. It’s not as if there are players who exclusively play SNK games or anything, but there are just hardly any people who even touch them. KoF at CF is a bunch of Asian and South American immigrants (fair to say most of them are from China) that aren’t the type the type that know about SRK or things like that and are just happy playing at the arcade with people they know. I think a couple play on GGPO but I doubt it. As for getting actual players to represent CF or even the whole damned East Coast to represent for KoF, well that’s just damned impossible because they don’t exist! We don’t even have a 98 UM or a 2K2 UM cabinet anywhere! Seriously though, calling it West Coast vs East Coast is like calling this picture http://naropapax.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/tiananmen_square3.jpg China vs Protesters while it’s just 1 dude. Same with what DG is doing calling his event ‘Mexico vs Japan’. Sure, it’s a taste of it but it’s not like Kobe Bryant is the only player on the Lakers despite being a ball hog. But in the end, it’s not like a scene full of some players will just appear out of thin air or people will suddenly want to play SNK games so yeah, it sucks on the East Coast.

You know, there is a difference between an objectively bad and good game. Fiol can regress to Kindergarten mode, put his fingers in his ears and pretend like his found memories of that and SFII CE suddely transform them into great games but it doesn’t work that way. The game got replaced by 98 and UM for a reason, and its not because its got a higher number in the title. Same reason why people with a brain play HF or ST over CE.

I am still fully aware they will castrate us all, and the VISA issue, but being the lack of DG at EVO, initiative for SNK games is in the single digits.
I personally would hate spending my whole EVO experience playing SSF4.

i did not feel like reading through all 10 pages but have to agree with emil. the only skill level able to compete with chinese or elsewhere would be central america. The only person I know to actually be on there level here in the US is KOFMAN aka Basilizk. He’s from El paso and dont think he’ll go to evo. Hi Emil!!! I still think you’re gay and emo. This is all just as gay as relying too much on a tier list. I don’t have money to go to a tourney so I’ll stay in my corner of the US and probably never get played by who people consider the greats. I still think my ability to play is pretty good and thats all I need. The rep you get, the horrible race rivalries…worthless. All that matters is that you enjoy the game and you met good people who also enjoyed it as much as you.

Dakou and Xiaohai, to my knowledge, aren’t very sociable. It would be pretty awkward to hang out with them. They will just play (and probably roll their eyes a lot at the skill level) while they collect their money.

I ain’t running anything at EVO just to let people know so why are you all even wasting your time entertaining this, glad to see some of you people are still talking about me, in case you guys haven’t quite realized I dont really post here in this joke of a section because of the very shit I am reading…the stuff that makes the US SNK community a joke is in this section right here. If Dakou and Xiaohai are gonna come it’s gonna be to an LDA Inc. sponsored tournament that’s all it is to it, unless EVO offers to do a joint venture then that’s out of the question. If you all see me at EVO this year trust me I won’t be running anything, if I am playing anything SNK it’s because DeadlyRaveNeo wants to money match me in RBS…other than that as I told you all before, EVO World SNK from all I am considered is finished…

Now Dakou and Xiaohai could possibly come to the US SNK Nationals in SoCal in February, that’d be the best place for them to go to since people from Mexico such as Ivan (chihuahuakof who posted in this thread/on this page BTW) who beat Bata 6-2 in 2002 UM are confirmed as well as Fory, Kane9999 and Alexis is interested.

Someone else can do it if they want.

Seriously, DG and Emil, you’d both be a lot more credible as posters if you would only speak for yourself and stop pumping up other players. Why? The simple fact that they aren’t you and don’t share your motives. EmX-I speak for myself when I speak on behalf of the people I feel will give the Asian people a run for their money as well as the people I have mentioned they feel the same way as I do. When I mention other names it is because I have talked to these people about the particular issues at hand and they can verify what I say.
