Sadly some of us grew up in an era where arcades was where the action was. Joysticks were the norm. We played at the arcade with joysticks and played at home on a pad.
…during that time, by some phenomenon, some people actually adapted to both. Some people’s brains could actually translate execution over both planes. Stick or pad.
Dark Geese enjoys beating stick players probably because he thinks that stick players have an advantage. I think it’s dumb to assume theres an advantage either way. People use what they are use to using.
I can play on either. But I prefer stick simply because 99% of fighting games are meant to be played with sticks. If fighting games were designed to be played with a pad then I’d mostly play on pad.
Sadly that’s not the case. When a game is designed, the controls are designed with them. I won’t play Narutimatte Accel with a stick. I won’t play Guitar Hero with a DDR pad. I won’t play ping pong with a baseball bat… but some people will because that’s their only choice.

Geese, I would assume that all people who play on stick think they have an advantage over pad players.
I personally don’t like how some players can set FRC or multi-button buttons on pads. That would obviously make for a logical argument about the advatage pad players have. Especially since alot of pad players don’t know about the rules of standard tournaments and such. So that statement of yours could go both ways.
Some people have common sense to know that skill is skill regaurdless of the source.
