Well Jason, I only mentioned how bad they look because this is supposed to be a professional game making company trying to “revitalize” what could be their most loved brand, and It looks like they just picked someone at random from deviant art or something to do their final game artwork.
I know the art has no bearing on fun factor of a game, but it is the first thing they see and what they use to market a game. Hell, I may play MK and enjoy it, but I will forever make fun of those fugly fugly character portraits.

Neoblood: It’s cool, I just don’t judge games on looks, I could care if it looks like the arcade after Rob has been there a week or looks like a quarantined hospital room…some of the stuff (like the Cage tattoo) look ridiculous but some stuff look amazing. I like how the game plays and I like the music and backgrounds. Character selection art I never have opinions on. I really don’t have opinions on anything other than functionality, it’s just how my background works…I’ll take Susanna Hoffs over Lindsey Lohan in this case= ) oh wait, that doesn’t even make sense, oh well

I guess it is a nice thing to do though. Since there are starving Justin Wongs in Africa who don’t get red carpets straight to the cash.

I didn’t pay anything for it. Near as I could tell, it was all SmokeMaxX. I’m not questioning it, I’ll just enjoy the tournament. Justin said he’d play us all for free, so it’s a hard experience to pass up.

Marn’s actually said he’s starting to back out of the tournament scene and look for “a real job”. He’ll probably attend a few majors for the fun of it, but I dunno.

Oh, and people only chipped in so much. According to SmokemaxX, Justin paid the majority of his plane ticket himself. People donating just showed him how much they wanted him there. I seriously think it was a smart move, speaking as a TO and a person who has tried to start a scene in his community (Oxford, in my case).
