Don’t use Boulder Punch, use Machine Gun Assist. It’s far more important for your neutral and mixups for Dante to have a full screen horizontal beam assist rather than a assist that only helps you with combos. Vajra is very useful for Chris as it covers his zoning blindspot which is the opposite upper corner of the screen, and Chris has no problems OTGing off it.

You’re right. I was actually using that assist for Dante when I first started playing, lol. Sorry dude, I’m completely off today.

To be honest Boulder Punch is better if you are running Vajra, you ahve enough pressure with Vajra that the other assist should be useful for extending combos, but that is just my point of view.

For all those who use Vajra(the advance users), i need some tips with the assist, how do you use it in neutral game, i know the basic uses but i need to level up my game with the mixups and pressure that involves using that assist, so any tips would be great.

Idk. I’d take a beam assist that locks down from full screen and clears out assists while having good durability over a combo extending assist any day. Chris’s Machine Gun assist is very good and functions very similarly to unibeam, Boulder Punch only seems good for extending combos or mixups upclose(which GunFire allows too). Unless Boulder Punch is not a true blockstring I don’t see the advantage of using it over Machine Gun. Machine Gun is a very good and horribly underrated beam assist(maybe since Chris is underutilized and primarily a point char).

There isn’t much to using Vajra, the most effective use is simply teleporting like a nut while calling Vajra, full screen omnipositional 50/50 into a ToD if you blow XFactor or use Vergil assist. That’s the most important use, but I’ll list a few others:

-You can use it for left/rights with Jam Session(Point Jam Session) and to confirm with Jam Session as anti air. This can also be used on incoming
-Using it for Stinger BC Teleport as a poke or to end blockstrings is effective.
-It allows you to confirm off raw Reverb if timed correctly, not reverb xx fireworks. It gives you a full confirm off normal reverb, this allows you to confirm off stinger xx Reverb Shock, or use it to confirm off the start of the round OS b+H xx Reverb Shock(warning this OS is throwable if they are mashing on f+H)
-It allows you to combo off ground throws( I don’t know any other assists that do this other than missiles).
-stMcall Vajra stH, is such a dirty anti air hitconfirm or incoming mixup setup. On confirm you can just press stS into a full cold shower combo, on block you can teleport for a dirty left/right. This works as a incoming mixup too(after crossup stM nevertheless, or acid rain).
-call Strider Volcano JC Teleport is a dirty dirty reset at the end of combos.
-Free 50/50s if people are super jumping with Dash unders or teleports.
-It makes Dante’s zoning more obnoxious in general, it’s just a very annoying assist to deal with for opponents.

I am gonna mess with the Machine Gun to see how good it can be, but usually i use 1 assist for mixups and 1 for extensions since i think with Vajra or Drones is more than enough, though i admit Machine Gun is a good horizontal assist.

Yeah i know there is not that much about using Vajra, just wanted to understand how the assist is suposed to work for Dante, oh and Drones is another assist that lets you combo of a ground throw.

How good is Dante with missiles? I typically use faster assists with him so missiles is kinda foreign to me.

i think you could get some good crystal and sky dance extensions off of missiles but i think doom would be better in front of dante simply because of doom missiles with jam session is so legit

Yeah I know that I can extend combos with it. I’m not good at using it in the neutral(except when zoning).

hysteric, air play, :qcf:+:s: , crystal, and maybe multilock and acidrain

I actually don’t like Dante w/ Missiles very much at all.

I also dislike Dante with missiles.
I know about his extensions with it, but if missiles is your main support, you can’t really play a frame-trap style Dante, and that’s the best way to play Dante in my opinion.

But of dooms two main assists missiles definitely seem like the better option, Id hate to run dante with plasma beam, good lord that shit scales.

reverb + missiles, fireworks, DT, reverb, fly, 7 bolts of lightning + missiles lockdown = saucy chip. It’s pretty damn good, unless you’re expecting to play Dante the same way with every assist you back him up by which is just retarded.

Best team for Dante with missiles on it? For the longest time my sub-team was Dante/Sentinel/Doom just because of the absolutely ridiculous and stylish combo extensions you can get with Drones/Missiles. However, as of late i’m really just considering moving this to my main team because I have so much fun playing Dante and I have put the most lab time in with him, by far.

I’m considering a few, watching ShadyK has made a really strong case for playing Dante/Doom/Vergil but I was never really a fan of playing Doom/Vergil, but it is one of the few Dante teams that is capable of ToDing off of anything, its also got really nice extensions with Rapid Slash/Missiles. I can also readily steal Shadys tech for always corner carrying into TAC infinites ( Or at least its just tech i’ve seen him use ). Maybe that doesn’t matter all too much since some of the midscreen doom infinites look practical as well. I dont think its a long term team though.

After that, I just see a lot of teams that are just tied straight up like Dante/Mags/Doom, Dante/Doom/Ammy, Dante/Dorm/Doom, you know, your common shells. After that, some teams with Iron Man or Strange as anchor purely for the assist and team support, but then I end up with the same conundrum as my dante/sent/doom team where I just have a character thats super frustrating to play.

Thoughts? I’m looking for a team that has a mix of style and practicality in real matches. Also not opposed to having Dante/Doom 2nd but I feel the optimal order is to have Doom 2nd with Dante anchor in that case.

The most top tier/strongest Dante shells are Dante/Magneto and Dante/Strider imo. They are the most stylish, work with a lot of the high/top tiers, and if they can abuse Vajra/Disruptor you have a good team right there, and it’s just good support value overall with Dante’s assists + safe DHC and good incoming options along with Million Dollars being a solid DHC damage wise.

But if you are running Dante/Missiles, your best options are probably:
Hawkeye/Dante/Doom, Magneto/Dante/Doom or Dante/Magneto/Doom or Magneto/Doom/Dante, Morrigan/Dante/Doom or Dante/Morrigan/Doom. And offcourse Dante/Vergil/Doom or Dante/Doom/Vergil. And Viper/Dante/Doom. I’ll also give a shoutout to Task/Dante/Doom.

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone had any good combo extensions with a wolverine assist, theyre all so bad :stuck_out_tongue: i find myself just randolmy picking one and never using it, but if i can get some more meter its better then nothing!

i used to play dante/wolvie, the combos themselves aren’t all that realistic, but it should give you some ideas, using the tornado claw assist for a double acid rain is what i found most useful for the assist.

you can also use tornado claw for teleport cross-ups in the corner, i think it works mid screen as well.
