I’m running Dante/Strange/Wesker (which is version of my Morrigan/Strange/Wesker).
The problem with blockstring into unblockables is the people tend to push block me quite early to the point even the Stinger whiffs. Going for shorter version with Teleport (without Blots coverage) almost always ends up with me getting caught out of the Teleport.
I need to improve my rushdown with Dante, a lot…
I find that the timing for the B&B reset with Wesker is something like :
A B C 6C Wesker A+S hammer (i.e call Wesker after Stinger, before jump cancel). Should test it in a real match though.
If they will stop jumping for just one moment.

, :h:, stinger, BC, reverb shock>fireworks on block is a good idea, but dante players have this need to prove they can bold cancel everything so they “don’t appear nooby.” the problem with that is most people pushblock on or before the third hit of a blockstring. yes, i counted.

Yep, but also record it to see if there are gabs the opponent can use, when i use felicia the reset is completeley inescapable because the mid hit she does forces them to instantly recover and is when they got hit with her low and Hammer, don’t know how quick the wesker assist is, though it should be almost the same.
Also for incoming opponents Acid Rain to force to block, j.S+ call wesker>cancel to hammer at the same time the low assist is going to hit, i don’t know how good is this but it works for me a good couple of times.
Sometimes is better to end with weasel shot than with reverb shock , because even if it whiffs it doesn’t leave you right next to your opponent, also has better + frames on block, though reverb shock does a good amount of chip damage(like 60k, yeah it is ridiculous.), also stinger prevents pushblocks if you BC Teleport(or plink), i also use more M>H>Reverb because is slightly more difficult to pushblock, but everybody plays Dante different.
It’s a shame, but I don’t know how to record in training mode ( and I was looking for it!)

, but both result in a whiffed stinger. i don’t really get punished after the whiffed stinger, but it’s pretty annoying. i suppose that’s what you want to do against dante.
actually, you gave me an idea: end a blockstring with weasel shot, call dr strange’s bolts, then teleport with dante. how does that sound? i literally just came up with it right now.
go to the menu in training mode, controller settings. on ps3, i assigned L3 as P2 record and R3 as P2 replay. makes for easy record and playback, and it doesn’t screw with the button config you already have.
in button configuration while in training mode you can change it to record P1, and then you can play it with another button( or recording with one button and then changing the same button to play it).
It is good, also i like strange bolts, even if they block the mixup i think you can do another one, though after teleporting you should mix with and airdash and then j.H, or soemtimes just j.H, also if they don’t pushblock the weasel shot you could wait a little but and do a cr.M, people will tend to do something after you finish weasel shot, so sometimes they will get trapped by it, and after cr.M the only thing you can do if i am correct is Stinger, or even a reverb shock, though it doesn´t let you combo(unless you use Devil Trigger) so all the mixups together is something like s.M>s.H>Weasel shot>wait and Cr.M>Stinger+Bolts>Plink teleport>air dash or no airdash> j.H >cr.M>Weasel Shot meaning that even if they block all you should remain at frame advantage, abuse the inmense frame advantage of a lot of Dante’s moves for frame traps (Hammer,Weasel Shot,Vortex,Crystal) also with the beam assist is great for punishing from far and converting into a full combo punish with stinger+ assist >bold move>hammer combo, though i don’t use bolts assist so i am not very sure how it works, but the blockstun it produces is godlike.
I worry they might be able to duck Bolts and jump and throw between them
what if weasel shot gets pushblocked?
bolts doesn’t exactly work the same for dante as other beam assists do. for one, it pushes the opponent away on hit, so dante’s teleport won’t crossup anymore. bolts, air trick, air dash :h: also doesn’t work for that reason; however, that means you have enough time to drop to the ground and start your combo with a low <3 people never expect a low after air trick.
bolts also adds enough HSD to keep dante from using his midscreen BnB.
i’ve found that bolts is good for devil trigger+thunderbolt chip or a combo lol, and i do believe i found a setup that the opponent cannot escape (they have to block) and it chips a lot. still testing.
With Bolts you can just wavedash forward and cross air dash or not, just care for slides attacks.
the idea is people are supposed to duck the beams, thus making overheads more effective, but the two beams that is bolts of balthakk don’t jail. you can just block the first one and jump or whatever. but i will be testing that out as well.
Obviously there are some variables when doing this, especially push block, but if they push block you can just dash>Stinger+Assist>Teleport and do another mixup, which thunderbolts you can chip like half bar if you have an assist like missiles or even the bolts should work, though i have never used Strange, so i don’t know the properties of the assist, what much time keeps the opponent in blockstun, etc.
Maybe if you use plink teleport instead of BC it crosses up, maybe i will go in the lab to test it;
Anyone who uses Vajra, has some mixups and resets? is the first week i am using it , so appart from combos, i don’t know a lot of tricks with that assist, and maybe i go for a Zero/Dante/Strider or Dante/Felicia/Strider, the first team is like Zero with Jam Session, Dante with Vajra, Strider with x-factor ourouououborous(don’t know how to spell it,lol), it seems pretty godlike, but i like to use Dante with Felicia because is CHEAP as hell, but Strider seems so good, and Vajra is just too amazing, need some advices with that assist for Dante.
i really want to keep the dante/vergil shell so who do you guys think will work well with those two better?

Hawkeye and Magnus, with hawkeye you can change to a zoning strategy and have a nice slide, with magnus is less zoning but better mixups, arrows are best for durability and leave the opponent standing, though everybody know magnus is a better character, i use hawk because i feel more comfortable with him.
How do you feel about doom?
His assists are godlike, but he has no good anchor capabilities, and you need tot ake into account that Dante and Vergil have low life, so there will be times that Dante dies, incoming mixup vergil dies, and you will be left with only one character, if that happens is better to have hawkeye to zone, magnus to rush, than doom to not do anything, but you can try it.
The most bullshit team or at least top 5 should be Zero/Viper/Dante, as long as Zero gets the first hit, you have unblockables with Viper for incoming mixups.
Working on my Dante/Dorm duo, any ideas who should be the 3rd?, i am using Sentinel now because of how cheap Dante gets with it, and it lets Dormammu do teleport mixups+Zoning at the same time, i know missiles is godlike for Dorm, but i am not used to it with Dante, Magnus or Hawk are other options, but the zoning game of dormammu is less threatening, any ideas?
All I know is playing Dorm with Drones is pretty difficult without some sort of defensive assist. If you can make Jam Session fill that role, then you’d be set, but it’s hard for Dorm to protect Sentinel and zone without something to scare the opponent away (Hidden Missiles, Lariat, etc.). To be honest, I feel like Dante works just as well with Drones as he does Hidden Missiles, although the horizontal coverage is obviously not there anymore. I use Dante and Drones and it works really well but again, protecting Sentinel against rush down heavy characters proves to be pretty difficult at times.
On a side note, I don’t use Magneto but I can’t help but feel like Dante can’t be used competitively on point without Disruptor backing him up. That assist is pretty much made for teleports and Dante is most dangerous with it in my opinion. Thoughts?
Well the good part of Dante and Dorm is that they can teleport behing the opponent so is more difficult to punish Sentinel, but if i find Drones are not working like i want i will change to Missiles.
Dante can be used in the competitively on point with a lot of assists, the problem is that all the good teams have a good point character+good assist for that character, so if you plan to use Dante on point you ‘‘need’’ Vajra,Drones,Disruptor,Missiles,Arrows or a low assist,that are the best assists for Dante, though i feel he is better on 2nd.
