well, thing about magneto is he needs really specific assists to be effective on point… so usually he gets thrown on anchor.

jam session or weasel shot (i run jam session), rapid slash and of course disruptor

Ah that makes sense for Magneto then, and thanks again I will start working with that.

I am completely 100% satisfied with my team for now, but I am thinking of adding a competitive edge to my strategy in tourneys.

I am thinking of playing Dante/Storm/Mags against Morri-Doom/other lame teams. Do you guys think the Hail Storm DHC/THC will be enough to give me a better edge against it? I know it’s a little meter intensive, but having Dante being pelted by stuff will surely build the meter for DT DHC into Hail Storm, and it will restore Dante’s red life. Secondly, DT Dante is a pretty good combatant against Morri-Doom also.

This keeps me from having to learn a whole counter team, and I can just work on learning Storm.

I’d pick Vergil over Storm because I know Dante/Vergil/Mags is godlike, but I feel like Hail Storm DHCs (with DT dante in the back) is a better way to counter Morri-Doom because it assuredly punishs Dr. Doom. Vergil may counter Morrigan directly, but it’s the assist that really does it in for you.

Opinions.

For an xx/Doom/Dante team, where xx is generally chris/cviper, would you prefer Doom/Dante or Dante/Doom?

For me I prefer Dante and then Doom as anchor, but that’s because I most of the time play Hullk on point, Dante DHC’s extremely well from the Hulk, shit like punishing random hypers into a full DT Dante combo that could lead into another reset, or have enough meter left over to just go for a kill combo, for Chris I would put Dante then Doom, I have a friend of mine who plays that team, Chris/Dante, Dante/Chris both have good synergy and can land kill combos off of one another.

Okay, so far I’ve played Chris/Dante(jam)/ Doom or Sent (missiles or drones) and Viper Doom Dante. I guess I’m on the right track, then. Thanks :smiley:

The only reason I like doom on anchor is because how fast and consistently he kills. The problem is he cant really open people up like Dante can. Personal preference. Try em both out nd see.

The option here, I guess, is to actually kill the opponent with XF2 Dante assisted by Doom. He’s capable enough. But yeah, I’m still trying stuff out.

For now my Dante super team is Dante(crystal),Sent(drones),Strider(vajra).
The team has some pretty great synergy.
-Strider on anchor always good.
-Dante is a pretty good point character and builds good meter.
-Sent drones. Do I even need to tell you?
-I can get from 900k to 1mil off of most of my combos for 2 bars using dante and sent. Midscreen and corner.
-Drones and vajra allow tele mixups and sick resets.
-Plenty of grapple reset opportunities.
-Vajra and drones can help me zone or get in.

  • Good dhc from dante to sent and vice versa.
    -The only thing this team doesn’t provide for dante is unblockables which is depressing considering I can grapple reset 3 million ways but with drones and tele it might as well be unblockable.
    -All around good team. I posted all my combos in a neat organized way on the combo thread. Check them out.
    -If you have any suggestions leave em.

The only problems I have with your teams is

  1. Dante can get so much more from deadpools other assists. He can get grapple reset unblockables with quick work or he can get gb resets for great damage from katanarama.
  2. I like dante as point with wesker on the team. The easiest unblockables in the game.

I am thinking of switching to Dante/Dorm/Magneto or Dante/Trish/Sentinel.

I love my team now, but I really miss having an assist to extend Dante’s combos. With the first team, I get Dormmamu’s assist for extensions, and I still get two beastly DHCs. With the second team I get a great neutral assist for both characters, and the assist also functions as a combo extender if I didn’t use it during the neutral. Also, Trish get’s more out of Sentinel than Magneto as far as assist go, but I have a lot of my own tech for the Trish/Magneto pairing that works well.

Don’t mention Dr. Doom. I played Dante/Trish/Dr. Doom before I saw any of the Stepz or Frankie G stuff, and I loved the combo extension. The one I personally used was call Missiles --> Volcano --> Beehive --> S – Missiles connect --> Acid Rain --> etc. My problems is that Dante is better with horizontal assist than Missiles. I know, I know. Missiles is godlike and Dante has all the tools necessary to abuse them, but after playing 100’s of games with them, I determined that Missiles don’t exactly help his bad matchups at all.

I’d love to hear you guys inputs. I’ve put A LOT of hours into these couple of teams, and I feel like I need to hear some informative outside opinions.

What about strider, he is a good combo extender and a good neutral assist (when he isn’t missing). Have you tried doctor strange yet, he has a pretty good neutral assist and good synergy together. Then you could bring doom back if you wanted. Maziodyne used that team and said it was great. But I personally like Dante/Dorm/Magneto because of the synergy they all have together and disruptor is so hard to block.

The only problem for Strider is that he doesn’t compliment Trish or Dorm all that well.

I’m not using Dr. Strange xD, but I may play around with his assist for fun in training mode.

This is a team I wanted to play for awhile for a few reasons. A) I think it can work in any order. All three characters have really good assists that help each other out. Mags with JS, Dorm with JS. Dange and Dorm with Mag Beam. And dante can get two prop shredders in with Dark Hole, while Mags gets in some good pressure with DH.

It screams TOD, too. You get the TAC option into Mags (even though I hate TACs) and dante DHC dorm does a shit ton of damage. You have safe DHC’s everywhere, just incase. The team is just solid, IMO, and I wish I could play Dorm or Mags well enough to do it.

I’ve been doing some lab work, and I’ve found that Dorm’s assist has a LOT of functionality outside of combos. As you guys probably know, you should be whiffing j. M before doing an Airplay. If you call Dark Hole before that, if the j. M tags them they’ll fall into the assist, and you can score a combo. This is a great opening game threat, and it is also a decent incoming mix up. Dark Hole combines well with Crystal if you can get the move safely off, as it leads to a lot of lockdown. Trying to get your opponent to fall into the Dark Hole is its main use in the neutral game, and Dante has a lot of ways to safely get the assist out.

Also, the double Prop Shredder extension with Dark Hole is pretty damn good. It builds some nasty amounts of meter it seems. Does anyone know any other extensions with the assist? Ones that don’t involve Cold Shower preferably.

I agree with Spencer on point in that team.

And Viper Dante Sent sounds pretty scary, that assist lends itself well to both Characters IMO. And dante unblockables with Viper, plus natural TOD’s with Viper. Can you improvise combos to save them with Viper yet? If so, Drones are even more scary.
