IMO put felicia first. Felicia with out an assist can be kinda… difficult. Dante with out an assist can manage just fine.

It depends on the matchup. If the other person is running an anchor you can handle just fine or isn’t something like Vergil you can put Felicia last. That’s the default setup I use. If the other person is running a character that can lame Felicia out I’ll just put her on point and let Dante anchor. Dante with that unblockable assist on point with Drones is very good.

I understand, but I never really liked to have Felicia on anchor because 1) her point game is scary and I really enjoy her in that position and 2) her speed is crazy. I can’t control it.

To be honest, I can never play Sentinel. Not because of the fact he’s newb friendly, he’s just not my cup of tea. In the meantime, dependable Hawkeye will take the position of anchor.

If I want to run Dante second with Doom anchor, you guys think Dante is better with Plasma Beam or Hidden Missiles?

Hidden Missiles has much better screen control, lockdown, and I think it allows you to combo from ground throws if you some MVC2 type stuff (call the assist before the grab), but it doesn’t allow you to combo from air grabs which kind of a let down. It also allows for some pretty nice combo extensions, right guys?

Plasma Beam has quicker side to side mixups and allows for combos from air grabs, but it seems the damage you get from a confirm is so low, barely around 450k or so.

Whick do you guys think it’s best?

seriously though, dante and doom missiles lets you do so much, extend your combos and build so much meter, it’s crazy!

So not being able to combo from air grabs is not a huge deal?

not really, considering dante anyways, you could run a character that could let you combo after air throws along with dante and doom, but that’s up to you, i can combo off of air throws using hulk gamma charge assist with dante but only in the corner, sometimes if i time it right i can also combo off of air throws with missiles as well, but it shouldn’t be a big deal, unless you are in some dire win or lose situation.

Well yeah, I am looking to play Zero (Ryuenjin)/Dante (Jam Session)/Doom (Hidden Missiles). I saw an amazing Japanese player playing Spencer/Dante (Jam Session)/Doom (Hidden Missiles). He was dominating with Spencer alone, and he even sometimes switched Dante to point and did great with Missiles backing him up. He never landed an air grab in the 20+ matches I saw from him, so I don’t it is that important.

Any one else has another opinion?

Yea, myself and that one Japanese player you mentioned are the only solid Dante players that use doom missiles regularly(to my knowledge anyway), there was a player named Big-D back in vanilla who used Dante/missiles but I don’t think he was in the spotlight for very long. I would recommend to any Dante player with doom on their team to use missiles assist, it takes the fact that Dante can already do whatever he wants with his neutral game during a fight, and magnifies it tremendously.

Dante (Weasel Shot), Frank West (Tos), Ryu (Hadoken)
Ryu is just there, mostly coverage for teleports. As well, a DHC for Frank West to level up twice in a combo.

Dante/Dormammu/Magneto
I feel this may be one of the 3 or 4 strongest Dante teams (Not involving Strider assist) that the game (In General though, Dante/anyone/Magneto is really really good)

What do Dante and Dormammu do for each other?

dark hole is one of the best extension assists for Dante, it also helps defensively by nullifying every projectile that isn’t named buster or a super.
Jam Session gives dormammu even more shit to cover the screen, gives dorm an extension, and you get the bullshit 50/50~combo off of jam session like zero gets
I wish the Ryan Hunter MvC3 video was still up from vanilla, He ran the Dante/Dormammu Pairing as well as anyone

I really wanna play Dante with storm but I was wondering how whirlwind could help Dante. Can it help with combo extension in any way or is used more as a defensive assist?

I used to play dante with storm. Honestly, I just used it to get in, it can’t extend combos or at least I couldn’t find a practical way for it, and it’s not good to use for a teleport mix up since it pushes them away.

At about mid screen, though, storm assist will just eat through most other assists given the nature of whirlwind. Usually I’ll also throw out air play, maybe charge it and dash in under the cover of that and Storm assist. Real reason I liked having storm was the ability to melt assists. If they do anything, either THC or DHC out into storm. Maybe even xfactor. Can usually kill the assist, even the point character if you XF.

Thanks man, thats one of the reasons I love playing her being able to snipe assists with her and she’s just really fun to play. I think I’m gonna just gonna use Akuma with the 2 and go from there thanks for the help.

So, I’ve been having a team identity crisis, I’ve been deciding between Dante/Doom/Ammy or Dante/Doom/Strider. On the first team, you get ammy lockdown, for stinger ammy assist teleport shenanigans and a lockdown assist for doom rushdown. But on the other team, Strider is such a good anchor and Strider goes so well with Dante and Doom. Any suggestions?

Running that Jill/Dante/Doom, learning Dante right now at the moment. Never knew he was so much fun.
