Well I can’t speak for other states, but I do payroll for my parents business and I managed a warehouse for a while and in Texas child support starts at 20% of monthly income and increases by 5% for each child. However you have to pay a minimum of 40% for six children and up, but I don’t think they can charge you much over that regardless of how many kids you have. So one of these homeboys is having 40% of his income split 81 ways. So if he pulls 3 grand a month, each baby’s momma gets a check for 15 dollars! These broke asses broke the system!

cheh, I didn’t even look up the percentages regarding child support until now…that’s crazy. Even if it were as “low” as 20%… let’s say a dude is earning 3 grand a month, you’re talking about $600 (could’ve been all of or a significant portion of a rent payment!) automatically being GONE from your income every month, for up to 18 years, maybe even longer than that…several hundreds of dollars just automatically swiped from you on a monthly basis…(sidenote–it can hit you on unemployment benefits as well; I see that every day since I work with that department…it can be up to 50% of your weekly benefit amount.) Fuck THAT. It is amazing that guys are actually willing to take that risk 
…like people being eager to skydive with a parachute that only works about 45 to 50% of the time… maybe this is actually worse, because at least with the faulty parachute, you’re just going to die and that’s that.
