Edit: You have j.:l: listed as having 13 frames startup (tied with j.:m: :looney:), that doesn’t seem right to me. I’d say it’s more like 6 or 7.

you could cancel cr.l directly into mighty speech and be like almost as safe (i know not really but come on might speech has better recovery than cr.l, reallllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?) also lol at 14 post flash startup frames for shockwave lolol

ya its ridiculous how bad mighty thunder is, its even more useless in ultimate now that tornado’s damage got buffed, i would’ve never used it if it wasnt thor’s only long range DHC option.

Actually no, M.Thunder is the perfect DHC for Dr.Strange Spell of Vishanti. And you can save assists that got caught on some ABC air combo with the Thunder.

Why, follow cr.L with cr.M or Mighty spark L to make it safe.

  1. just cause it works with some random dhc like spell of visahnti, does not make it good. It also doesn’t work as an assist saver because guess what, they combo your assist, then you do mighty thunder, they block, then they punish you (unless you xfactor) since you can’t dhc out because your assist was getting hit…

  2. cr.m is sorta okay to follow it up with, but its still not 100% safe. -11 for a cr.L is terrible there is no two ways about it. Also doing it into light spark won’t make it safe against people with low to the ground normals such as slides.

  1. I never said it was good, Neo said it was useless, it has some uses like the ones i listed so it’s not “useless”. Half of the work in mvc is making your team work, so go figure out ways to use the M.Thunder with other characters.

Regarding the assist saver thing, it works in some situations, for example Wolverine catch assists sometimes and try to finish them off with Fatal claw in a superjump combo, Thor can save the assist with Mighty Thunder there.

  1. M.Spark L is safe on a blockstring, not in the neutral game against small characters w/ slides, but we’re talking about blockstrings aren’t we. The other option is mighty smash L (-4 on block).

i know that its not completely useless i just meant that its even less useful in ultimate (that wouldve been a better way to put it i guess). You can see in my post that i said its long range makes it useful when you cant use mighty tornado. My point was that its still an extremely bad hyper.

Its only safe if they get hit wiht the intial spark from mightyspark L otherwise you can just pass under it. Only way to hit the intial spark si to be all up in their grill, which I suppose could happen but still its not super great… as for mighty smash that doe work against most things, except throw, cause they are one frame, which I think always works because if you space it where they get pushed to far back to throw you mighty smash l doesn’t combo on block.

Anyway its moot you have lots of options all of with are only sorta safe. And it doesnt change the fact that cr.l has awful frame data.

So confirmed again… you have to stay in the skies with Thor.
