Ah, Bison. The memories.
Dates me, I know, but I played Bison in Gr 7 when Champion Edition came out and I loved playing him. Psycho Crusher in CE was ridiculous, the guys I played against were terrible, you know the drill. I had played a bit with the original 8 but Bison just had more of an appeal as a “cool” character, might have been him being the bad guy or it might have been CE Psycho Crusher being bad-ass.
Anyway, pretty much semi-retired after Alpha 1/2 and they had pretty much changed Bison into some other character. All of a sudden he’s all pumped up and using fireballs. WTF? I was done. Done for about 14 years actually.
When I started playing SF again it was because my bro-in-law got me into SSFIV, so we picked up a PS3 and i got this game as a gift for being his wedding MC. =) Started with playing with Ryu (and getting worked a bunch of times) and then figured I’d give Bison a try and man, it’s like coming home - even better. Not only is he even more fun to play as now than he was in SFII but he’s got that ridiculous grin all the time. Even when he loses he is grinning, except when he is getting molested by Hakan’s ultra (but anyone who can smile through that is a better man than I).
Whew, anyway, now you know my illicit yet totally hetero brotherly love affair with Bison. Still hoping they reveal that Dan is his illegitimate son one day!
I was telling my bro in law that playing Bison in SSFIV is like coming home - even better. Not only is he even more fun to play as than he was in SFII for me, but he’s got that ridiculous freaking grin with everything he does! Heck, he even grins when he loses (except for when he’s getting molested by Hakan’s Ultra). How can you not love
