I picked Akuma because he has no weaknesses and he is really easy to play, I use him against Seth, Gief and maybe Guile. He has the tools to handle stuff Bison can’t like point blank AA and low pokes, and of course vortex=vortex
exactly. zero as opposed to -2 gives you more options which leads to more damage opportunity with leads to victory. -2 isn’t like juri -4 pinwheel, but you have pretty much no reliably safe follow up if anything.

Bison looks good because if you land a st.mk you can chain another other normals ending in laucher.I think he will be a good point character unfortunately rolento look like a similar playstyle but better with better movement and oki. Bison does seem to do more damage relative to the than he does know in 2012. I would pair him up with a high damage char like hugo,akuma, sagat personally I am thinking heihachi or raven.Because the tekken chars have plenty of weird high low mixups that are going to be really good at the begining.The format lets you pick bison and a partner that helps him with his weaknesses.And juri looks really good too.
I second Juri in SF so she will be backing up my Dic on day one in SFxT. I’ve had a little whirl with her on SFxT too and although I didn’t really know the mechanics she’s still a ton of fun to play.
I’m Shadowloo 4 lyfe yo so I’ll be hitting up training mode and seeing which character I like to go with Bison. Gonna start with Juri but dunno where I’ll end up yet. It’s part of the reason I’m so fucking hyped for this game. Haven’t been this excited pre-release since SF4!!
BTW Gems will definitely be allowed in tournies, Ono keeps banging on about how they’re an integral part of the game and it wouldn’t be SFxT without them so I can’t see them being banned in tourney play.

I’m considering any combo of Bison/Akuma/S. Fox/Yoshimitsu/Rolento/Jin/Dhalsim/Juri/Cammy/Vega.
I’ll probably see how Akuma/S. Fox go at first, then I’ll check out Bipson right after. I usually like using either intense zoners, intense footsie characters, or safe rushdown. Pretty pumped for SFxT, I just hope it has a better balance between rushdown and zoning than SF4.
Well got 2nd again at our local ranbats. Got killed in grand finals by honda to no ones surprise. Seems my success is tied to how soon I run into honda or a competent gief or guile. I really need to pick up and learn a good counterpick for those matchups. The problem is who?

If you tuned into the Cross Assault stuff this past week, gems are nowhere as big of an impact as people were worried about.
They activate once per round for an X amount of time under Y conditions. The higher tiers of gems activate with good pros but also cons along with it.

Honestly, I don’t know if the whole story is even out there. So much drama. She felt like she was being harassed by Aris, who may or may not have been just aggressively teasing/joking, but supposedly she never told Aris to STFU so he just kept at it and it just escalated. But top this all off with Aris going on Jared’s stream and saying “you can’t have the FGC without sexual harassment” … yeah. Not a good look. Frankly the whole damn show is making the FGC look like ass. It’s disorganized and drawn out, they players aren’t particularly great, and there’s all sorts of needless drama.
On the brighter side, there’s a ridiculous amount of praise being sung for SFxT. FlashM and Mike Ross were on Marn’s stream last night … FlashM saying it’s “the greatest game ever made.” And if it were any context other than a Skype chat with Marn I’d say he was fishing for brownie points w/ Capcom … but he swore up and down he was serious. And even from other players, the worst thing that I’ve heard is “it’s fun.” So we’ll see…
yeah i don’t believe it’s the “greatest game ever made”. Seriously, people say how godlike 3S was, and seeing the mechanics and everything in that game, I can see why because you can literally win with anyone and the parry system makes it so if you’re damn good you won’t take much damage even from top tier characters. I wish the parry system was in sf4. So many of that safe jump option select shit would go out the window
Capcom sure is riding this game, so much money on advertising, what videogame has ever gotten 2 internet shows to promote it, + these “unbiased” comments from almost every player. Seems like they gave the ad company their credit card info and said " make sure EVERYBODY buys this game, well fix the game more if you need it"…
