as a former cashier i let it slide as much to 10 cents. i’m getting paid minimum wage and part time and not getting promoting anytime soon so i don’t really give a shit about the store.
if someone is short a penny ill grab it from the spare change at the side of the register. also, im the store manager of my store, so im counting the drawers at the end of the night most times, and theres a ton of change in the office. so being a penny short isnt as big of a deal to me, since it can be accounted for.
HOWEVER…if someone pays for an order, lets say, thats 4.01, with a 5, best believe im only giving them .99 cents back. HOLD DAT SHIT. I love when they look at me silently askign with their eyes to just give them the dollar. NOPE.
When I get rung up like 4.05 or something I always pay $5 + a nickel.
