Triangle as jump threw me off for a good minute. Too used to playing DMC3/4. I’ll be honest, I died more on normal difficulty on DMC1 than I did in DMC3/4.

Cuz DMC1 enemies arent bitch made. DMC3/4 enemies mostly stand there while you have your way with them. Enemies in DMC1 go “oh hell no” and will fuck your shit up.

lol I did it since it’s known by now that the ‘elleged’ 2nd game is the weakest of the DMC games so far (altho having Dante’s best look/design).

What I do when I play through the DMC series is I play through the following:
DMC1
Bayonetta
DMC3
DMC4

Best Series ever.

DMC2 was very flawed in the gameplay department and it definitely deserves all its criticism in the gameplay department, but there was a lot of cool things that game added to the series that never got followed through because of the negative reaction to the shitty gameplay. I’m glad they kept the apocalyptic feel for DMC3, but I really liked a darker, less cheesy Dante. Cheesy Dante is great, but stoic Dante was a BAMF. We’ll probably never see his story followed up, but it actually interested me the most out of all the DMC stories. Not saying much yeah, but still. DMC2 had some memorable bosses, a great score and a great sense of style. It just played like shit.

did you play DMC1 before 2??

DMC 1 created an amazing connection between avatar (dante) and the bosses, the camera angles were excellent and the game felt more rounded

DMC 2 was the equivalent of a conservative halloween themed catwalk show. I think the gameplay was fine, it added lots of new skills and freedom.

but like someone mentioned it was a distorted hybrid of another game that was in the works and it shows, using diesel costumes was a very cool edition but the actually cosmetic game design was ass.

DMC1 is such a throw back for me. It was probably the first or second game I’ve ever played when popping that demo disc into my old playstation back when I bought it in the later half of its life span.

I’ve only played 4, so this collection will be nice for me. It’s probably still going to get covered in dust like all the other games I just buy and not play though.
