This game even worth learning?

The game does have it’s flaws (what game doesn’t?) but most of it’s bad rep is bandwagon hate and DLC butthurt.

Reviving a local scene for it will take some effort, but if you can get people to sit and play it with you they’ll probably have fun.

But whether or not the game succeeds at a tournament level shouldn’t matter unless you’re only interested in it for the competitive scene only. What matters is if it’s fun to you personally. There’s plenty of people to play with online and lots of good times left to be had with it before it’s all said and done.

Congrats on your B rank maybe I’ll make it there one day.

Nah this game isn’t worth playing due to the pay to win overpowered auto gems, characters still locked on the disc for future dlc purposes, sound not working online, Rufus dive kicks, Kazuya infinite, Xiaoyu infinite, Rolento freeze game glitch, shoto tatsu madness, Raven cr.hp loop, and character jab pressure. Wait this was months ago…yeah this game is totally worth playing now.

You ended your own thread right here really. :razzy:

Seriously though, that’s what it comes down to. If you’re wondering about whether there will be competition for it in the long run, then that remains to be seen… but you’ll also have to go out and support it for that to continue.

If it’s just a matter of personal gratification, and you enjoy the game, then eff it, play it. Unlike a lot of older games, it’s not like there isn’t at least a decent amount of online competition out there and the online is actually pretty good (unless you purposely seek out 1-2bar connections… then you deserve what you get darnit). And depending on where you’re at, the local competition available may be decent as well.

Personal anecdote time: I sincerely regret not continuing to play Tatsunoko vs. Capcom due to friends dropping it, because I fucking loved that game. Although to be fair, the online was ass-tastic, so… yeah. Still could have put more effort into getting others to play it and sticking with it though.

Play KOF!
It’s easy.

LIES. **LIES!! **

…still, play KOF too though, it’s pretty sick. :razzy:

“- Your inputs rarely get dropped due to internet connection”

AHHH, if only this were true…sheds a tear.

It actually is pretty easy to learn kof it is better to start on the older ones like 98.

I agree there. I found XIII pretty hard to get into (though I do like it), but previous entries were pretty easy to get into, 98 and 2000 in particular for me.

You should try 2002um, even though I hate the Vanessa nerfs (especially one caused by the different input system). A lot of them are warranted though.

Already have it and absolutely love it! just… meh online and no one to play with locally. :frowning:

We can PM on that note though, kinda’ going all off topic and such now.

I really like this game from the start. Played the Beta at Gamescom 2011(cologne) for hours and I’m still playing the shit out of it since official release.
As long as there are decent players around with a good connection I won’t drop this game so easy…

I don’t care about the on disc dlc, about the infinites/glitches, about the paid gems or the butthurt of other people. I only want fun matches with good players!
