yeah it was a dark joke alluding to previous fun between pertho and myself. i figured anybody with any history would get it. 
fun fact: the leader role gives you cool abilities to make srk better. i use it most often to fix up old broken but important references on srk. it’s kinda random: discourse’s power levels are really weird and i don’t think are well suited for forums, if that makes sense. they seem designed for a reference library or wiki, really. if you have the Leader role, you might know what i mean. i don’t think it’s hard to get. it’s kinda a set of powers that should be used positively more often.
some reference was made to evaluation of quality by likes, which is a perverse incentive. do the right thing. we don’t want to be a nation of instagram whores desperately fishing for likes: we need villains. i liked the Insightful vote. and rep was at least an interesting / fun system.
the community is awesome. people coming together are awesome. my friend is getting his phd on gaming communities, so we have fucking deep and awesome conversations about GCs all the time. never think that i don’t get the rampant awesomeness that the community brings, on many levels that y’all just don’t even think about. my favorite example is that a meaningful chunk of magic gamers are actually homeless, and them being able to pay $15 to be around other people in a non-terrible situation for three hours is significantly meaningful to their lives. (i’ve always been curious about that intersecting with the Stank Problem…) think of everything this community does for so many people for free. fuck, you posting here is actually meaningful to people. and you reading this crap was somehow part of your life. pretending like i don’t care about the good the community does was callous: please just don’t.
whatever you think of me, i hope you take the things that i and others have contributed and be better than we were and do more than we did. that may be a low ass bar, but hey-- anybody making a positive difference in the community, gaming or otherwise, is aces in my book.

SRK defended lovelessemotion (because yellow fever), even some people said they saw her at Evo. Shit was hilarious, but then the truth came out. Don’t lie on SRK yo, also props to FlipKev for that STA breakdown. Nobody saw that shit coming.
Best year was 2003 by far. By then, akumachan had enough and stepped down, replaced by drunkengameplayer (who I didn’t vouch for, it should’ve been Weeks). Spac Lock/[ESC] Plan was running around getting people with those MS Paint Penis avs, shit was killer comedy. Mr. Wizard banned the SRK Imperial Army, Bloody didn’t run off to Gaia yet, and Red Queen was bitchmade. That thread “What’s wrong with kids these days?” was pretty good too (SA.M hollering at teenage young girls on AIM)

I don’t think I was there for that one but I do remember VDO at FR a few times. He trolled the shit out of people with Yama in CvS2. I somehow got into a hotel room he was in playing CVS2 games one year. So many people were trying to get in this one room and whoever had the room was telling people to GTFO as they tried to come in the room. I think the guy I was following was told to play elsewhere and that was my ride to Final Round so I was going to leave with him. I saw 3S being played, but I was like, “yeah they look pretty good at 3S I’d get my ass beat anyway” so I was going to head back to my own room. I wore an R.P.D. shirt like a fucking dork and someone from the room was like, “yo it’s RPD rookie!” And the guy at the door said okay you can come in.
Then someone else was let in the room and they asked me if I was RPD. And then VDO on other side of the room was like, “Okay who the fuck is RPD rookie?” and immediately I was like “I’m nobody, I just play Q.” and they thought that was the funniest shit. They had CvS2 going on another tv in the room and that’s where VDO was. I think Justin showed up at one point to play CvS2. That was back in the day when he used to show up to play a set to collect his money from a money match and bounce to the next room that wanted to play him. So we had two TVs going one with cvs and 3S, and the room was packed with people.
I think I was playing this Chun player and if so that means I must’ve been losing. I think he was using her crouching mk pretty well and I was too dumb to react right. I just crouched in the corner and started spamming Q’s medium kick in a rhythm. I think I did like six or seven of those in a row and VDO out of nowhere said, “ I don’t know what the fuck is going on over there but all I hear is Nnnh! Nnnh! Nnnh!” Whole room laughing their ass off. I lost the match but we were all laughing so good times!
Only FR I went to was the one where you were Q! Fun times!
