"This camera can record too?" Spider-Man UMVC3 Video Thread

LOL you (a person who has most of his videos fighting a training dummy, a theory fighter and whom would never make it past 1st round of a high level tournament) criticising MAME spider (a proven legit Spider-man player) is like a financial academic theorist criticising Warren Buffet on how he picks stocks in the stock market.

he’s really impressed me after this week

good shit mamesparda-man

Yet I can still go toe to toe with those same players and still land higher damage. Seriously, will you ever learn?

This is incredibly stupid. You need to start contributing yourself or stop posting. Your “contributions” have been trolltastic in the post history that I’ve seen. Stop it. I’m not going to put up with you pissing on the forums. Please take the time of your ban to contemplate how to contribute effectively. If you’re not interested in doing that, there’s really no point to you ever logging back in: trolls aren’t welcome here.

lol no

Spidey’s a bad anchor they said. Xfactor combos take to long they said. I’m sure you guys are right. But I still love XF3 Spiderman.

Yeah, Mame Vergil had a good run. Clockwork looked like he was too intimidated by Lvl 3 X-Factor Spidey honestly. You could tell he didn’t know the match-up by the amount of grounded photon shots he threw out and to stay above Spidey for air-to-air situations rather than air-to-ground.

The UWT was pretty damn clever though, seeing as that a lot of Striders like to double jump on entry.

So proud for mah boy Kinderparty, who got 13th!!! Kentucky ain’t no slouch state!!!

you still think you’re the best Spidey player in the world? seriously bruv… i know you do well in local tournaments in Chicago and recently got 2nd at UFGT8 but seriously man… no offence but the people who faced you on stream literally gave it away to you. Flocker (pressing buttons against a Dorm), Dieminion… seriously.
im not saying im better than you cause ive never been to a major and im a part of a community of like 10 Marvel players… but i must say that (no offence) there is such an ego on these Spidey forms that ive almost stopped posting entirely. i just cant understand why some of us here instead of working to improve our game and encourage each other, we criticize other Spidey players and belittle their achievements just to look good.
just because you’re well known on Youtube through combo videos/tourny matches, it doesnt make you a superstar. i respect you all for having helped me improve my game through those match and combo videos… but this has to stop.
you dont have to take me seriously and just laugh this off… but i really ment what i just said.

Even though Mame made one hell of a comeback with lvl 3X Spidey, i really thought Vergil should have been his anchor but maybe things didnt go as plan and he had to put up or shut up with Spidey, still one hell of a showing with Spidey on anchor. I havent really explored him in lvl 3 and body got a combo vid for it?

Let’s be real the only thing mame spider did better then me was be foreign and japanese. It’s the same story every time. I’m some kid from Chicago and these are WC/EC/Japanese players who get respect because they live in a certain region and they show up on bigger streams more often then not. Also “lol” at people giving it away to me. If it were the other way around and I had gave it away to Flocker do you think people would be saying that? Hell no they would say Flocker made me crack hard as fuck and it was my fault for not being a better composed player. Get that double standard out of here every game I’ve played its the same bullshit I have to work 10x harder for the same amount of respect that players who aren’t even half as good as me get because they live near an ocean.

Also when did I belittle the guy? When did anyone belittle this guy? If you haven’t noticed I don’t post here that often and 90% of the time I post nothing constructive and make an attempt at some type of terrible joke. Also where is this ego you are talking about? From what I’ve seen most of the people who post here know they wouldn’t perform well in tourney and when they do go they generally don’t.

Pfft

Andrew Garfield is clearly the best Spider-Man

fuq outta here yall

Also, opinions, people, etc. Be easy :stuck_out_tongue: Additionally, MameVERGIL did a lot more work did MameSPIDER in this particular tournament overall. Still clearly knows how to pilot the webhead, been a while and I like his movement the most out of all I’ve seen still.

Haven’t seen too many XF3 combo vids for Spider-Man since he’s built for point IMO, but he has some cool stuff. Definitely becomes Crack-Man. That Mamespider one was hella cool, great use of the huge hitstun on H Swing. It really shouldn’t have happened though, all Clock had to do was SJ away since he can’t convert an air throw from that high, straight matchup experience. He also bet it all on that UWT, beautiful read (although all Striders DO double jump on the way in, haha).

Ben2Gen. No one is taking anything away from Mamespider or Brightside, they are both respectable players of their own style. As for critiquing Mamespider, more than likely that was me. There was no ego there, his style is mostly runaway so he lands certain hit confirms but doesn’t convert off of them. That can be for multiple reasons whether he was expecting to hit off them or not, and from what I was told it was also mentioned on stream by the commentators as well. I couldn’t watch the stream here in Afghanistan so I can only go off what people tell me or mention, but a comment like that doesn’t surprise me. This isn’t taking anything away from him, this is simply noting that if he converted every random hit confirm he lands he’d fuck shit up a lot more.

As for Brightside’s sarcastic comment, I myself am not mad at it, and I don’t think anyone else should be either. As a community we should grow together yes, that’s why I make my videos, but at the same time every one of us should not be putting any other Spidey, er scratch that, any player on a pedestal. We should respect a player for how well they do but always be ready to better yourself so you can take what’s theirs at any time. That’s how competitive growth works. You see something they do better than you, then take that shit and make it better than they did. That’s how you make it in tournaments. Brightside definitely showed that at UFGT, no one can say any matches were given to him. Even with the match up unfamiliarity remember the consensus before Brightside’s performance of Spiderman was he’s ok at best but not much of a threat, Brightside put in work against known killers, and changed people’s views. That goes to him as the player.

i’m sorry i had to

also i know the feeling about not being relevant based on your location. even if i was a good player no one would care about me because i’m some canadian and not sponsored :frowning:

Hahahaha this just got gooooood

W/E, as long as we step it up as a group, I’m happy about it. UMvC3 should be Spider-Island. Best he’s been since MSH imo.

Sorry if I came out a little unclear but most of my response to Brightside was in a general sense to these forums (about belittlement, sense of arrogance/superiority over others etc) but the "lol no" comment response to my post however did annoy me a lot.

My comments about Mame Spider being maybe the best Spidey at the moment was based on the fact that in a tourny like EVO, that hosted around 1600 participants for Marvel, he drew for 17 place, staying in winners up until after that match against Clockwork and from the results of local Japanese tournaments that host around 30-40 players. It had nothing to do to the fact that he was Japanese. If Brightside had been there in 17th place, I would have said the exact same thing because that is an amazing achievement and would have been rooting for him. I was really impressed with Mame Spider’s movement, creativity and control, especially in lvl 3 XF Spidey which I assume many of us haven’t really explored. I crapped myself when that was aired live on stream and inspired me to look into it myself and stop just shrugging it off as a non important aspect of playing Spidey.

As I’ve said in my previous post, I respect you all. I myself am subscribed to Xero’s and Airborne’s Youtube channel and have asked questions to you guys before to help me improve my game. If you scroll up this chat however you will notice a recent troll being banned due to his comments toward Xero and he made a certain point about “critiquing a top player from a player that hasn’t been to many tournys himself”.*** I******* am* not that troll*** but I do believe that he has a point. I don’t believe that Xero is an arrogant person** but I do believe that we all have to be careful how we present ourselves for the sake of potential new players to make this forum look like a much friendlier place. I know people who enjoy fighting games but due to other online gaming (especially FPS, whom are full of agro-teens who can’t take a lose) don’t want to be chewed up and spat out by more experienced players. I’ve had this thought about humility on these forums for a while now due to many comments over time. I didn’t just explode of frustration due to a sarcastic post the only contained “Lol no” and due to a point a troll a made.

I do want to say to Brightside however that you have a better chance than me to make it big, so do your best to try to ignore any haters. The fact that you live in the States is a big plus. I’m aware that it isn’t that easy to travel due to the fact the USA is bigger than Europe, but I’m sure you have more competition closer to your area than I’ll ever have, thus your technique can only improve a whole lot faster than me. I live in Dublin… I can say that I regularly make it to top 8 in all the tournys here… which usually hosts around 10 players each time. Due to the lack of competition, my progress is much slower and still lack a lot of match-up experience. For example, there are no Zero’s in Ireland… imagine that… I don’t know how to handle one of the biggest threats in the game. I also keep loosing to a well known PW/VJ/Dante player (Lythero who made that PW tutorial)… and as much as I really like the guy, I get so pissed that I still haven’t figured him out yet.

Thats pretty much what I wanted to say. I don’t want any bad blood between anyone here… but I have to say something when something like this is frustrating me as much as this was.

spidey vs pw is dumb and i don’t know how to play it

I’ve been told not to comment on certain things so I won’t but I can say is that there is a difference between NOT going to tournaments and NOT BEING ABLE TO. I LOVE TOURNAMENTS, but being military living overseas, where even leaving the island to go to mainland Japan requires leave and money, makes it hard to be a tournament player anymore, so I do what I can, which in this case is for the Spidey community. I love the competition, the environment, and the shit you can learn from tournaments but I just can’t make them unless I get lucky. I’ve been to plenty of tournaments both small and of the national scale, and I have a history against some of the better players in older games. The shit I come up with doesn’t just come from no where. I took all that I’ve discovered from old games and then broke down this system and used it how I could to make a better character. With that being said for me still not being in the scene like I use to, with weekly gatherings, monthly travels, and quarterly nationals, I should not have been able to hold my own against some of the players are in top 32 of Evo no less with only online experience, UNLESS, I’ve dealt with similar situations in my own past. If you want to count online experience with that, which isn’t worth two shits in my opinion, I’ve played Tokido, Mamespider, TenBoss, and SuperKingOnline plus some others enough times to know what I can and can’t handle on certain levels. Even with all that, there is a difference in critiquing and just plain out dick riding. Not saying that you are, we all have our favorite players. I critiqued Mamespider’s gameplay but not the player, let someone more known have said the same thing and people would have looked for what said player had mentioned. Myself on the other hand was critiqued by a person as a person/player, while my gameplay itself was not mentioned at all. There’s a notable difference. What I’m saying is don’t look at certain things as having an ego or not. Everyone is critiqued by players stronger and weaker than them, a good player knows how to take all that criticism, good and bad, and become better from it.

i want to apologize because i did come out as a douche but i really didnt mean to. im aware of your situation Xero about not being about to travel so i hope i didnt offend you personally. i know that person was a troll and im aware you werent taking him seriously so you were being a troll back but i guess i over reacted.
i hope i didnt come out as a dick rider to japanese players, i was just excited to see a S.player make it so far in Evo, but i am aware he did a lot of work with lvl 3 XF Vergil.

i appreciated your comment and i understand your point of view. i guess ill just end here before i make the situation even more messy. take care of yourself with your military service and look i forward to any future uploads you may have on your channel.
God Bless.

I’m not offended by it, it just get’s frustrating. I’ve been this road a few times before except it was different before. I wasn’t military and I wasn’t getting enough money to always travel but it wasn’t as bad then because there weren’t as many tourneys like there are now. Seems like there is one every month nowadays instead of being quarterly. In any case, we should all respect each other as players and learn from that respect, on both ends.

not to detract from the current conversation, but

why the hell can’t i beat wolverine

i play for about the first hour, but the first 30 minutes is what i’m most concerned about. the first 5-10 seconds of each match against my friend’s wolverine/frank/iron fist is the most frustrating thing i’ve ever had to deal with, because i have no way of getting out of that nonsense. once i kill off wolverine it’s usually in the bag, but if he touches spiderman once it’s over, and suddenly i’m dealing with a level 4 frank. i also get blown up by a random spencer/dante/taskmaster at 1:24:00 because fuck man i don’t know. I DON’T KNOW WHY. it’s like i’ve been making so much progress with this team and then i get beaten by stuff like this and it’s just like WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR

i’m in desperate need of some critiquing. also, mame vergil was fun to watch. i’m glad someone was there to rep spidey, even if i would’ve liked more out of him.
