You know what I have figured out by learning and almost mastering every character in the game? That there are only a couple of tiers that actually seem to have the same concrete advantages over everyone else.
Chun Li, Denjin Ryu, and Yun. Your pretty much safe picking anybody else you want as long as your not fighting those characters. If you can parry well,and by that I mean parry attacks not supers, Urien can get his elbow off and become top tier.
See I made up my mind a long time ago to disect this game myself and not go off of what everyone else thinks. I dont even listen to what Japan thinks is concrete. But I am observant. I do see Chikyuu dominate with 12. What about KSKās Alex at EVO? I think he got 3rd and Alex isnāt up on the tier list that high. But I guess your gonna say well KSKās better than everyone else though. Isnāt 12 supposed to be low on the tier list too? Dont you guys get it? U ARE THE FUCKING TIER! You, the PLAYER. So get that tier shit out of here. The US has to get so good where tiers dont matter.

When Valle and Cole saw us using Hugo back in the day they were like fuck, rush down Hugoās going buck. I dont pick characters in tournaments thinking this character beats this one because of the tier list,blah blah,he beats her 7 to 1, and if I carry the 1 I should win. I play with who Iām feeling at the time. When you know your shit you can do that.:lol: I havenāt lost a tournament in 3 yrs to a character that wasnāt Chun Li cept for KSKās Alex at N Cubed and Jack Leeās Ibuki from TX. Thats why I dis on her(Chun Li) so much.
The only guys that have been beating me consitantly in tourneys are Flash G and Ricky Ortiz. And I think Ricky as been beating everyone as of late so dont chalk me up as some dumb founded player. And guess who they choose? Chun fucking Li When Ricky has Ken I beat his Ken with who I wanna beat his Ken with plain and simple.
Every character is cheap, you just have to find whats effective with them and exploit it. Denjin Ryu-Dosnāt matter who u got Denjin is unblockable and u dont know when the player will let it go. Chun Liās scrub/newbie friendly. Yun is almost unbeatable with sa3. Everyone else is very much so beatable.
Some people rather just go off a stupid list then to see what works for them.

Of course winning and losing ultimately lies within the players, but u cant ignore certain characters having more and better options than others, thats just facts of the game.
for instance, Makoto has an advantage because of her options, but its up to my opponents to get away from my tactics and come up with his own strategies tryin to beat meā¦ but its obvious that chances are, Iāll come up on top more oftenā¦ and I say āchances areā because it is easier for me sinec i have better options that do more damage while its more work for the other guy using a lower tier character.

and Ricky is only a good Chun Li player that knows how to win with herā¦ hes not a great 3s player. (I could say the same about a lot of Chunsā¦) cuz everyone knows shes so toptier and sometimes noobie friendly.

Only he has a character thats better then mine according to the tier list Iām not supposed to beat him no matter how much I change up because his character is simply better than mines. Your definition of tiering is a little off. You say you āmasteredā lots of characters, thatās fine. Say you could play yourself somehow, obviously some of your characters are gonna be better. Thatās what tiering is looking at. JUST the characters, bringing a specific player into a tiering argument is not talking about tiering.
Good point. Tier lists donāt account for the human factor. The ability to change up and adapt to your opponents strategy, and that is exactly why someone can win with low tier. On paper yeah Hugo should take Ken, but all Iām saying is that wonāt be the case all the time. Its good to look at a solid tier list and see what āsupposedā chance your character has against another. If you see your character is the underdog say 12 vs. Ken, then you need to be aware you gotta put in the extra effort to win. Take it a step further and study frame data of a character you have troubles beating and know what moves you can stick out there that beats your opponent. Tier lists arenāt ācompleteā garbage, but at the same time, they arenāt something that will guarantee you a victory, they might give you an idea of who has the greatest chance of winning but when it comes down to it, you the human, have to control that character and get the win.
God this is great, what other game could create this much explanation. I feel what your saying too man, however your argument is irrelevent because HUMANS are in fact controlling these ātiersā. I could see if the characters were playing themselves but thats not the case. Yeah some of my characters are better than others. But its to the point now where Iāll just kill you with some characters a lil faster than others cause of the damage they dish out after a parry or an opening. Iāve beatān really good kens with 12, and Iāve beatān that same Ken with Ken too or Alex. Just because most kens are predictable. Most Kens do the same thing in every situation because its the best decision at the time. Soā¦all u have to do is know whats the best decision he can do if I do this and counter it. Simple as that. Thats why tiers dont mean shit to me. Now if parry wasnāt in the game then yeah tiers would mean something to me. But hey its just lil ol me and I cant convinvce the whole US to think or play like me so fuck it.
Excatly, I am not saying uāll never beat someone as good as u with a so called lowtier character, if so then this game will completely be not worth playing.
tiers is just on paper stuff, just like Patriots are favors to win the superbowl, but they still have to play the damn game to find out, and outcome is up to the players.

but the thing is, 3s has been out for a long time, where every possibilty of countering and landing damaging combos has been exploited, u cant tell me players dont have an advantage using toptier characters over lowtier characters, because 3s isnt a perfectly balanced game.
Why are yaāll just thinking on one side of the book? Donāt you see that the 3s tiers or I guess I canāt say yaāll see, but it seems like to me the creator of 3s is a genius cuz I think he made the characters in this SF fit a persons personality. So to me for this game you have to think deeper than then most SF games even Super Turbo. I think they already had it mapped cuz each SF that came out was harder than the last, to master or even beat on the highest Difficultly. So I think that in this one there needed be something more something that would keep people attached to it. So they just threw the New Generation out and each one was a test to the media to see how they would react(thats there were some many SF2ās SF3ās because people said shit so they want to appeal to us so they fixed). People just cuz Gamepro or MGM says its coo we all donāt just run out and buy it. I think Capcom is the best cuz they listen to the crownd the audience . Capcom strives to please the public or our public( the SF community).
So my point is there is no just one or the other itās both player and character they wanted that merger so people could play the game w/more meaning more Depth to it then the last. Thats why Capcom is great to me. Look at like this when you have a bad day and your playing the homie from across the street and heās whooping yo ass, and his thinking like yea I told you, you canāt hold me donāt you get mad cuz yo dude getting whooped. You feel apart of that ego that character holds, thats the whole point of games like this one to make us feel like theres more to life.
