Third party PS4 padhack options

No diode, or anything needed.

However if you intend to use it into a hitbox, you should put a SOCD Cleaner system to make it tournament legal (if you ever want to use it competitively)

thanks man. I will do some research of the SOCD later. I need it to work first.

sir, I pm’ed you for a while but got no response. Thankfully that one is solved. But now I have a new problem that need your help. I got the pad (pdp mortalkombat x ps4) modded to the cherry mx box, all buttons work, but the down button on the dpad. Is there any alternative solder point for this button? I tried to solder it on the other side but no luck
Thank you and best regards

@dodathp113 Unrelated to your actual post, but Gummo hasn’t visited here in about 2 years. I believe he had a kid back then which took up most of his time, and he JUST had another kid a few days ago.

Your solder joint is probably cold, or you may have broken a trace. Test the contacts with a multimeter and try shorting the contacts while it’s connected to a console and see if it works. It could even be the keyboard switch.

wow, I didn’t know that. Since he got a lot of info about this, I think I can learn a thing or 2. Guess I’m on my own now :frowning:

I tested a few things but I cant identify the issue

  • The cherry switch is nice, tested
  • Soldering is on point
  • I shorted the signal directly to a ground with a wire but no luck.
I think there should be an alternative solder point I could take advantage of but I cant find it so far

Lemme have a look tomorrow. I had hacked a PDP MKX PS4 pad a while ago; it’s still sitting around somewhere.

hurray, thank you man. Please let me know if you have found an alternative solder point. I will take a picture of my soldering work as soon as I can (pretty messy with wires but not the solder joints)

Sorry man, I checked out my hacked PCB and not only is it in a project box, I soldered everything to the underside, so it’s not really possible for me to check for alternative solder points. :frowning:

that’s a shame :frowning: thank you for helping though
Your soldering is exactly like mine. Guess the pcb is pretty much dead now

Hi, it’s me again. I found this on a chinese e-commerce site

Has anyone encountered this one so far, it’s only 10$ shipping to my cojuntry so I think it could be a new alternative for padhack

Nope, never seen it.
You could open it up probe around with a multimeter and add your findings to the page.

I’ve done it. In my country Argentina, they are laveled as “Cobra X”. No difficult to hack.

got my hex inverters in the mail (i ordered 3 because i have 3 sticks using hori mini pads) and wired them up like in this post:

“-connect the ADC point from the pcb to pin 14 on the chip
-connect R2 and L2 to pin 2 and 4 on the chip
-connect pin 1 and 3 to their respective buttons
-connect 7 to ground”

one of my sticks is working fine, but for the other 2 the triggers go crazy for a bit after plugging in. did i just get some bad hex inverters? they’re SN74HC14N.

I did try wiring pin 14 to usb vcc instead of the ADC point but that didnt help.
