Mate, there’s an old edition of CVG from the late '90s that profiled the first SFIII game, and had some behind the scenes CPSIII info. 12 years on, and that intel is still largely unknown or explored in the West. Let’s have some some interviews with the voice actors, the artists, programmers, the whole shebang. Fly out there, hire a foxy translator and bust that knowledge open, sensei!
If you’re looking at the early UK arcade scene, then you need to hunt down intelligent and lucid players players like TheHY and CIV to dish the dirt, as well of course guys like Ryan and Zak who played it at a top level. The old 3s threads on GHZ & NTSC-UK had some fairly delightful nuggets in as well. If you look on eBay (understatement), you’ll have seen some pretty rad 3s dolls and toys leak out of the East over the years too. On here and the byrdo site, you should be able to collate some pretty sick custom SFIII related joystick images as well. Good luck.
I remember that issue, my mind was blown with that section. Unfortunately I got rid of all my copies of CVG so can’t take a scan. But yeah I agree, as a relative newcomer it’d also be great to have background info on how scenes in different regions started and developed.
This goes out to all the players going to EVO: Make sure to record as much footage of not just games, but also, insight, and ideas with the game. Think back to what C-Royd did last year. And submit all info to TheShend. Savvy?
Theshend you are a god. A great thing I think will be to have someone translate danshien commentary. It would be even more interesting to watch once you know what nuki is exactly shouting and his guest commentator is saying about the match up. It will provide valuable match up info to newcomers as well as seasoned players.

I don’t really know how to do it, but if you make it so the website stores information in a database with locations for each arcade, you should be able to make a google maps widget that will show them all on a map, which would be pretty cool. Also speaking of databases if there was like a way for video watchers to flag videos as containing players or specific matchups, like I Play Winner does with its SF4 character guides, then you could slowly build up a searchable database of information on the thousands of videos you have.
It might even be possible to use the YouTube API to search through all the descriptions for recognised player names (like using your excellent player database XLS) and automatically be able to sort all the videos by player or character or even player playing a certain character. I wish I knew anything about databases and web development because I’d love to help but I don’t really have enough time to learn all that jazz.
Anyway you provide the best resource ever for 3S fans and I hope to see you at an event or a HoG meetup sometime, you’re a genuine hero for the 3s scene.

UK prefers Version B, yes we know SVB etc are on Version A, we play Version B. It’s not just about the unblockables being taken out in Version B, there are lots of subtle changes to characters like Elena (my main). I’ve slowly been adding posts to the site, mostly with information on recent uploads, Tougeki Qualifiers and a couple of features on larger/regular events etc. Jsut to keep it busy, me busy and to try and keep some interest going.
We’re in the process of developing the layout for the arcade section atm, I’ve got a list of Japanese arcades I’ll be focusing on first and then working out to other countries.
What I would like to do is try and collate some good pictures of the outside of the arcade and hopefully a few of the inside, better if it’s the 3S cabs! So if you’ve any holiday snaps, saved .jpegs or whatever of the following places I’d be grateful for them.
The focus is pretty much what I have footage for atm, it’ll progress beyond these eventually but I think that’s a fair amount to be getting on with >_<
Right folks, I’ve done a couple of arcade pages with which provide a jist of what to expect. Atm it’s strictly information only, but we’re going to work on something to include comprehensive video footage information and an Arcade main page to navigate.
