Yeah, it is for full hits.
Also I am not sure it has been mentioned yet, or if it actually works, but near as I can tell you can punish badly spaced EX Scissor kicks with HP/ex jet upper. I have my doubts that it would punish if they do it from max range, or even any real distance, but I seem to be getting away with punishing it when they are up close pressuring me in the corner. If anyone can confirm this for me I’d appreciate it.
every ex scissor should be punishable by something. Anything within st.rh range gets st.rh.
dont know if this stopped its a great idea. and i dont see any requests but i guess ill throw out sakura for the next one!

I haven’t been active in about a week now, been playing too much Halo 3 <3
Anyways, Bison is my second most hated character to fight behind E.Honda. I don’t have any tips but these tips look good and I’ll try them out in training today to see what other reversals are good for EX SC.
Anyways, for a request of another character I’d say Rose…seriously? Who doesn’t have trouble with Rose? I think Rose has been underestimated when using Dudley and a lot of people like myself need to fight a few tips to keep Rose down. I personally don’t think Sakura is trouble from my experience but hr footsies are legitimately good and her anti-air is so gdlk.
Been playing Hugo101 a lot the past few days, also been watching him play Marn and another dudley at Arcade Infinity (Horrible Dudley or something?) I obviously didn’t win a lot of the matches, because he’s a much better player than me, but I made a few observations.
It seems to me that if you can stay out of the corner the match is even. If you get in the corner, good luck.
U1 went all the way for me. Punishes EX Psycho Crusher, Headstomp followups, Devil’s Reverse followups, and teleports. All of which are his main forms of escaping pressure. Once that becomes wildly unsafe, he has no options but to guess right.

Oh and you can totally punish Hk and EX scissor kick with c.mp-> mp MGB, timing is real easy too.

You have to have to have to have to be able to dissuade Bison from pressing st.RH by counter hitting it with st.Fierce, or at least trade with it. His button causes 100, yours 130. He has 1000 life, you have 1050. At least look for the trade, but ofc CH is the ideal and will quickly put doubts in his mind about pressing that button.
Was messing around earlier and found out that Dictator’s hitbox for the Scissor Kicks is on the ground, so you can actually crouch forward it for an untechable knockdown.

I know this thread is kind of old, but if you play a scissor kick-happy bison [aka 7/5ths of all bisons…] if they do 2 scissor kicks and then try to do a crouching short, Dudley’s crouching strong will beat it. Test it.

That’s what these match up threads are for, if you got something good to add to the match up, post in it.
It’ll trade with 120 damage s.HK

Also, nightmare booster will beat out crouching strong, I think that’s pretty important. I’m surprised you didn’t test that too.
You cant recommend using c.MP vs SSF4’s Bison’s Scissor pressure.
All sarcasm aside, once the Bipson pressure starts you gotta take your shots because he has a ton of shit he can just throw out at you you cant deal with with normals or reversals alone.
From a Blocked Scissor Kick Bipson can s.HK, Teleport back, c.LK, Delayed c.MK xx buffered Scissor Kick, and Scissor Kick
Come on now.
Not even safe to back dash vs That kind of mix up.
When they release the SSF4 AE section of the SSF4 boards we’ll take the SSF4 defense options there but for now keep it honest
(dont say you can cross counter btw)
Lol at my Bison experience. (not throwing any names out) Also I’m not saying you’re completely helpless and have to block the Bipson pressure. I’m just sayng there’s no sure way out of it for Dudley./
React, Adapt, and Read. The only sure way to beat Bipson pressure.

The bolded section is what I am deriving my information from. I know firsthand Bison pressure, and I know that it’s very difficult to pick your shots, and that’s why I put up the information. On several different opponents, I’ve noticed that they will often do the scenario I described above.
Though of course it’s difficult to consider the source, in the latest excellent adventures of mike ross & gootecks, Mike Ross tells Gootecks to sit at 3/4ths screen away from bison and the Bison will use the slide. Low and behold that shit works multiple times, and he says that he uses that same strategy in tournaments. Now knowing that, am I going to use it given the chance? Fuck right I am, because if Bison can’t get his pressure started, I don’t have to pick and choose my shots.
The same applies to using c.mp in the situation I put before. If you’re not going to do utilize it, I’m not telling you too. If you’re going to get too hung up on always losing to his options, then you’ve lost the match before you start. By the time bison gets a single meter, you might as well be afraid to do anything, and just let Bison bend you over, because as far as you know everything will be an EX Psycho Crusher.
Read, Adapt, and React. Everything isn’t going to work against everyone, but use what you can to your advantage.

I play Big Marcus (top usa bison) a lot and boy oh boy is the match very hard. You have to really stay on your toes just as everyone has said. A smart bison will never use stuff like EX scis or HK scis unless they fadc (and I think they are plus or at least even at).
Usually after 2 scis kicks most good bisons now know that they are at a range where c.lk might not work and resort to s.mk and hk etc.
This is definitely one of the harder matchups but is not unwinnable. Dudley has to be able to deal with the corner pressure. If you cant deal with it you will lose because you are probably going to be in the corner at some point. You gotta be able to punish stuff like teleports and the rare bad scis kick or crusher.
Slide being fadc able is so good for bison its silly lol. I’ve lost count at how many times I have been counter focused cause I see slide, focus, and try to lv2 it only to find my focus whiffing and me getting lv2’d. Shits funny.

Nope. Bison’s faster and his footsies are better. He’s dominant in the air and on the ground. So his wakeup isn’t that good against Dudley but neither is yours against his.
4-6.
The worst part about this matchup is that Bison gets that 6 so easily. He can just play a basic Bison and he’ll have you blocking and guessing no problem, but you have to be ON POINT to earn that 4. It’s a bullshit matchup.
Yup, easily one of my most hated matchups as well.
If I dont get in the Bison players face right away, and keep the pressure on, I lose.
The only bad thing about this matchup is bison walks back faster than you walk forward, and his crouch short. This really is not too bad of a match.
I do wish that the hitbox for the first hit of his knee press was smaller. I hate being just in range for that first hit of the knee press when I try to level 2 focus it.
i find that using ex duck against st.roundhouse bison users is the best thing ever. Free grab everytime you do EX ducking for a response for their st.hk to try and keep you away, just a small useful gimmick but will change the pace of the match very quickly if you pull it off. Done so in tournament matches and money matches… Another thing, You’ll be blocking 90% of this match and!!! watch out for dash grab and to make sure your dudley steals balrogs mash jab cause it helps to throw it out there when turtling cause bison is looking to use st.hk and dash grab most of the time even when he’s retreating backwards just slowly watch his dash grab it’s fast as fuc even offline.
