On a semi-related subject: I’m currently running Zero/Dante/Doom. I’m considering switching Doom and Dante around. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. If I put Doom second, I don’t have to TAC with two characters to get to the swag combos, and Doom is just an overall better DHC option, but I’m not sure how good anchor Dante really is.

the team works either way, also doom/vergil is a garbage ass pair without an assist anchor.

You could try Strider Hiryu. He’s a decent battery for Vergil (if you go for resets, that is), he provides a godlike neutral assist and he also can benefit from Rapid Slash somewhat.
Why Vergil last? Zero/Vergil/Magneto, Zero/Vergil/Ammy, Zero/Vergil/Sentinel, Zero/Vergil/Doom are all good with Vergil second.
It’s better if you say what characters you would like to play.

Me and couple other guys were talking about that team a few months ago. It definitely works - I just hate having Doom as an anchor. Though I guess if you play it well, he should rarely be more than an assist.

And to think, I told myself when Ultimate dropped I wasn’t going take long to decide on a team.
For a while I was set on Zero/Cap/Sent and Zero/Nova/Sent, but I like Viper too much not to play her - and that’s where the trouble starts. Not to mention I didn’t have time to play for a few months. I’m just getting back into the swing of things. On top of that, this is the probably the first fighting game I’ve played where the most of the characters I’m interested in are really good. For reference I wanted to main Hayato for the first year or so of MvC2 and Gouken in SSF4.
Hopefully w/ the long weekend I can sit down and do all the testing I need to do. It’s pretty much down to:
Zero / * / Strider (w/* either being Cap, Doom, Viper or Nova)
Zero / Ironman / Sentinel
Zero / * / Viper (w/* either being Doom, RR, or Hawkeye)
Zero / Nova / Hawkeye
Zero / Morrigan / Doom (may keep this as a “I really can’t beat this person, let me lame them out” team)
Zero / Doom / Phoenix
Believe it or not, this list used to be so much bigger.

Basically Zero and doom , Zero ans vergil are awesome together.
Morrigans assist are kinda lame, he projectile is really slow but is decent for mild zoning/Mixups. I tend to use her free meter assist because doom Missles cover so much anyways. Its soooo lame though because Zero usually dies with 2.5+ meters… and morrigan goes batshit crazy lol.

That’s pretty much how I’d run it. Let Zero do his thing and call Morrigan in combos (and between Doom assists) to build that meter. Tag him out when he’s in trouble and let Morrigan chuck the plasma.
I feel like people forget how lame zero can be the lamest person ever. Sougenmu Zero + Missiles. = Ghetto morrigan. Then You have morrigan next, Fucken laaaaammmmme

I used to play team Flocker. I don’t play it anymore because Hawkeye isn’t a particularly great anchor.
you must play a bad hawkeye.
He’s not a bad anchor, but he’s not as derp easy to decimate an entire team with as, say, Strider Hiryu or Vergil or Dark Phoenix or whatever else.
