The Zero MvC3 "Team" Thread

Zero(hadangeki)/Doom(missiles)/Deadpool(Quick time)
There is no real objective to this team. The chemistry is there (& this just so happens to be my main team)

Zero(Hadangeki)/Nova(Gravimetric Pulse)/Doom(missiles)
I like standing in the middle of the Gravimetric pulse it just forces my meterless opponent to stare @ me.

As much as I like Vergil with Zero, I’ve now decided to sideline him to counter zoning teams only. I like my original team of Dorm/ Doom and Zero/ Dorm/Doom too much and combos are very hard to drop now thanks to the dive H buff. Corner carry combos and 950K damage while retaining plasma beam is good for me.

Rekkoha + Chaotic Flame does stupid amounts of damage and tbh, doing Vergil’s SS DHC combo is effort and there’s plenty of room for error, if there’s one thing I learnt late- it’s that I wanna minimise chances of dropped combos anywhere.

Though I like Zero/ Vergil with hidden missile not just cos of the combo extender for Zero, but the OTG for Vergil and just generally being a insurance plan which has ruined a lot of people’s games. + With those 2 I’ve pretty much been able to convert off any random missile into a combo so HM isn’t fucking with my combos either.

On a separate note, does anyone know of ways to DHC from Lightning Loop? I’m thinking a Hidden Missile in there somewhere could do it but I’d like to do it with Plasma Beam/ Dark Hole.

Also- has anyone managed to get a Sougenmu unblockable setup off Spencer’s Slanted Grapple Shot assist yet? I know you have to activate Sougenmu before OTG Dive but I can’t get the unblockable down + I suspect it can be pushblocked. But it’s such a nasty concept there has to be a way x_x

After using Zero (b)/Spencer (b)/Wesker(b) from Vanilla, I’m now trying to switch Wesker for Vergil. It took a while for me to be convinced that vergil works well but rapid slash assist is so effective if used right. I’m sort of sacrificing a few things from Wesker such as lack of a decent mid-screen combo for Spencer, certain unblockable setups with Zero and Dark Wesker (blah blah sunglasses broken etc) but the damage increase for my basic zero combo is big and easier to execute.

Rapid Slash is really good mix-up options on block, follow up options on hit and making zipline a bit safer for spencer. :slight_smile:

I’m pretty much brand new to this game and am looking to put in some serious time to get good. Ish. Ha ha. Anyways, I was thinking of running Zero/Ammy/Wesker. What are your guys’ thoughts on that team composition? What should I worry about, practice, etc?

I think this order is fine. Wesker as a anchor is perfect. His low gun shot assist can make for unblockable setups with Zero. Ammys cold star would help zero because it leaves the character stuck in block stun. & you have slow on top of that!!! this team played right can be deadly

Ugh i’m really torn on my team order, running Zero, Dr. Doom ( Plasma Beam ), Wesker ( Samurai Edge ), I feel like having a beam on my team and not letting Wesker abuse it is a crime, and often times when running Wesker on anchor, i’m tempted to just tag him in over Doom just so I can use his beam. On the other hand, Wesker sets up great unblockables for Doom, and I feel like Dark Wesker, is a bit stronger than Dark Doom.

Then theres the slightly stronger DHC synergy between Zero/Doom and…ugh I dunno, I guess I just need 2nd opinions. Any thoughts?

Well I’ve gone from Zero/Vergil/Doom to Zero/Vergil/Hawkeye and now I’ve settled with Zero/Vergil/Dante.

^ How on Earth are you guys all coping with anchor Dante? I can’t make the fucker work at all.

if you still got x factor, he has a lv3 infinite in the corner (Jam session x 99999) also you can chip with devil triger’s thunderbolt, its more like a smart use of x-factor instead of a “AAAGGHH!!! rushing you to death!!!” one.

ur zero is pretty good imo. u have some nice set ups with the nova assist but the one thing i didnt like was you almost never taggeed zero out when he was low on health but i can understand it sine it may have been unsafe to do it

I should tag him out more.

As far as combo enders/extenders is there anything Zero could do With Strider’s Vajra assist? I think I saw a video on it awhile back but can’t find it anymore.

Also, Is Doom missiles the preferred Doom assist for Zero now? With his buster buff, I feel like he doesn’t need a horizontal assist anymore

I have been beating myself trying to find an anchor for my team since Ultimate dropped. Right now im at Zero/Vergil/?. I really need some suggestions. Im going crazy over this lol. I feel like i need some kind of beam or projectile.>:(

Doom for the love of god DOOM! Now, which assist you use is really tricky. Hidden Missiles give you the damage and “insurance” + Vergil gets better pressure strings from more than half way across the screen using round trip and HM lockdown. But beam gives vergil the mixup and makes his normals safe, lets Zero keep assists like drones at bay, is less prone to getting “happy birthday’d” but it’s also very limited in the damage department cos of scaling.

I’m using HM at the moment but experimenting with Plasma Beam later. Though I’d love nothing more than to make HM work perfectly with Dormammu.

I have a question for you guys running Zero and Vergil. On the WNF stream, Flocker was using Zero B assist, presumably because he was DHCing a lot into Vergil with Soungenmu—>Devil Trigger and powered up projectile is a good assist. However, I’ve seen several people use Zero A assist to extend Vergil combos off of a knockdown. Which assist do you guys think is the best for this particular pairing?

I use Ryuejin because it’s invincible on crossover counter.
