JUST LIKE TO SAY to AvariceX combo with zero/dante/vergil:

Uh that’s not my combo. It’s Nini’s.
Only linked it for the awesome Viscant quote.
Haven’t gotten much Ultimate practice yet, but my Vanilla team is as follows;
Zero (haven’t decided exactly what assist to use with him, I usually pick his ranged one)
Amaterasu (cold star)
Deadpool (Katana-rama!)
Basically I have them both as combo-extenders (though Amaterasu can also be used as a combo starter if I’m smart about it). And I can use both characters somewhat effectively outside of simply using them as assists. Not only that, but they can team hyper combo into each other very effectively (You can combo into both Zero’s QCF hyper and Deadpool’s Trigger happy or Cuttin’ time Hypers from Amaterasu’s QCF hyper, you can combo into Amaterasu’s QCF hyper from either Zero’s hyper or Deadpool’s, etc.). I think they have pretty decent synergy. The only issue is that they don’t have great health…
I’ve been thinking of swapping out Amaterasu with Rocket Raccoon though. Rocket Raccoon, I believe brings in another OTG assist (bear trap I think, someone correct me on this if I’m wrong), or his log-trap assist can help keep opponent’s off of Zero. But I’ll still have the health issue. What do you all think?
Raccoon’s assists are log trap, shrapnel trap, and the blaster.
Ah, okay then. Log trap it is then.
Yeah, you see I’m having problems deciding who i want to run. Zero Dante Doom or Zero Dante Wesker or Zero Akuma Sent or Zero, Dormau, Wesker. The most powerful team would be, Zero, Dante, Wesker but how does Dante benefit from Wesker? Maybe I’m in the wrong thread lmao XD. Wesker on anchor is never a bad idea imo. Also for Zero, Dormau, Wesker, if and when zero dies, how does Dormau benefit from Wesker or Should I put Wesker 2nd and rock Doramu on Anchor?
I’m still running Zero / Dormammu / Dante. I feel like Zero and Dormammu got way better while Dante got way worse, so he feels like… somewhat of a liability in the back, but usually the front two can sweep up enough that I don’t need Dante, and if I do get to that point, XF3 Dante is pretty good.
So many fun characters now though. I really like strider and doom’s assists are good, albeit he’s not really that good actually fighting IMO. Nova could have some good synnergy with Zero, Vergil works well, as does Firebrand. I would be maining Vergil if his assists weren’t so… meh. I wish every character had jam session so I could just put someone I like better than Dante on my team lol
Well I’ve finally done it: I built exactly 4 bars in one combo using only one assist and dealing 950k. No point in fighting it now - Dark Phoenix rises.
Also xSx thank you for reminding me I wanted to try Dorm lol. Been experimenting now for hours and forgot to even pick him once. I’m thinking Zero/Doom/Dorm. Doom isn’t leaving my team at this point (mainly because I love him, forget tier talks), only reason he ever left in vanilla was for the Dante DHC and I don’t think Vergil is nearly as strong as vanilla Dante.
Does anyone have any Felicia/Zero tech? I want to see a team nyan cat.
This involves aerial tag right?
Yes. The tag is at such a weird time/position in the combo though that I think I’m going to get it for free on most people for at least the next month. So I’m not posting it until people start to catch on because I feel like winning for a change :).
No It wasnt that, I dont use that auto jump thing, It was I got drunk off my ass friday night and got 4 hours of sleep. The headache and hangover I had Sat killed me execution wise. I mostly goto to majors(esp philly) to see ppl I aint seen in awhile and chill.
As for my team, I kinda got lucky that they work well for the most part, with deadpool giving Zero combo extentions and unblockables and Akuma Tatsu giving him the BS left/right mixup with Zero’s Teleport, there isnt any DHC synergy in the order I run them though, so its a pain to do damage. Which is why you see I wont end a combo with rekkoha most of the time (unless it will gimme the kill), imma jus go for the lightning loop, cause it will do more damage, and in the event I drop it, the clones are very disorientating and I always get the chance for a new mixup
Alcohol. What’s your Anti-Zero?

That page has a glaring oversight. It fails to warn about tournament execution.
Im rocking Zero/Vergil/Dante still, but I want to know more about how to fight with Vergil and Dante, I feel that, once I lose Zero im at disadvantage, I know dante is good in lv3 xfactor now, but I dont know how to make Vergil work in that team, he’s so damn akward to use grrr.
Also what do u guys think of this other Zero team ive been working on, its more for Zoning purposes with a biiit of rusdown:
Zero (Ryuuenjin) / Sentinel (Durrones) / Dr.Doom (Hidden Missiles).
I’ve seen Shady K run a similar team, but he uses Felicia instead of Zero and has Sentinel anchor.
'Sup all.
Making the switch from Vanilla pwnd my previous team (Magneto/Ammy or Tron/Dorm). I just can’t play Fatneto anymore (wtf did he eat a bag of cement?), so after shopping around quite a bit, I’m really liking Zero. Going to dig in and work on his tools. Tron is obviously dirt-tier in this game, and Ammy’s across the board frame nerfs scared me away, though I might try to pick her up again down the line.
My new team is looking like Zero (srk)/ ? /Dorm (dark hole). In slot two I’ve been musing about two characters:
MODOK (beam):
Storm (whirlwind)
Since I’m still adapting to Zero (my game is so fraudulent right now), I’m not sure which will be a better compliment for him on point. Any input would be appreciated.
Oh, I’m also looking through the combo thread (so don’t flame me for asking this), but it’s hard to filter out the relevant stuff. If anyone is feeling helpful, I’d appreciate a link to a few strong, annotated BnBs I can work on getting down.
One last thing: does assist selection really matter with Zero? I’m liking the Ryujin (shoryuken thing, whatever) because I’m inclined to TAC to 'DOK, and if 'DOK comes under heavy pressure on point, having a 100% invincible Crossover Counter (I swear most people forget these are in the game) is a great “gtfo” tool.
I would lean towards MODOK in that lineup actually. Storm is a better overall character (and has her own TAC shenanigans as well) but MODOK’s beam assist is a lot more valuable than Storm’s assist. Confirming off of whirlwind can be very hard at some positions because of the insane pushback. Having a command-grab super in the back is always great too…think about these scenarios: Rekkoha on someone blocking (either in a blockstring or because you just mis-timed it in a combo, DHC after it starts but before it hits (like the devil trigger DHC) into MODOK’s command-grab. If they do anything other than up-back they are eating a super (is MODOK’s grab 0-frame after startup? If so then they can’t even up-back, they just get hit by a super). You also get some weird situational stuff like XF guard-cancel into Sougenmu DHC to command-grab.
I think you might have trouble with mid-screen DHC’s from Zero to MODOK though. Limit burst (I don’t know any of the actual names of MODOK’s moves) should work but might lose hits. Storm on the other hand gives you the guaranteed high-damage DHC in hailstorm (as well as a very useful punish tool with THC hailstorm). I think the main advantage to MODOK here though is he’s less reliant on meter than Storm (imo) and XF3 Dormy loves that meter.
For what it’s worth I did a bit of testing and a fully mashed lightning storm DHC from rekkoha does more damage than hailstorm (barely, and only in the corner).
I don’t think Zero’s assists add much to Storm’s game (or anyone’s really) but the ryuenjin assist does at least give MODOK some breathing room to set up his barriers/cubes/whatever that character does I don’t even know.
The advantage of character unfamiliarity is a big one in this game too. This is a game where you can kill an entire character (or 2, or 3) just by doing one of limitless things your opponent didn’t even know existed.
Thanks for the input Avarice.
As for DHCing into Killer Illumination on a blocked Rekkoha: not that I’m clear on why I’d let this get blocked, but everyone drops combos. The way you described using this isn’t quite how it should go, but it got me thinking. KI isn’t 0 frame start-up, it’s actually 1, so what I would do is let Rekkoha get fully blocked, and then late DHC into KI if you think they’re going to press buttons. That way you get chip damage and a probable throw. If you have the extra meter and they jumped out, you could finish by going to Chaotic Flame to at least make it safe (can’t punish Chaotic Flame from the air unless you’re in the corner, AFAIK) and possibly tag them randomly.
Yeah I’m much more “fluent” in Storm, but I actually just like MODOK a lot more, and he definitely WTFs people with random stuff (combos into jamming bomb -> reset might as well be unblockable). Your point about meter dependency is true, too: I feel MODOK builds more meter and uses less than Storm, and yes, Dorm does love having meter to “BURN!”
See what I did there?
MODOK can also ToD characters with < 900k under the right circumstances (2 bars stocked, close to corner, having a few LOUs to start helps up damage to ToD 950k + characters). DHC from Zero to 'DOK is probably best to go for Hyper Battering Ram, which isn’t that strong, and doesn’t set Dorm up for a good third DHC. Actually… I wonder if I DHC Rekkoha early to a whiffed KI, if I can super jump S into a ground bounce for more cubes -> super with 'DOK.
Hmm, back to the lab…
Edit: Yep, you can definitely Rekkoha, DHC and whiff the KI, and then get sj.S in with MODOK. Still looking for follow up options with better damage than a straight super, but this way I can get at least two cubes and a reset. Interesting.
Official team for UMvC3: Zero / Nova / Sent
Extended Lab Time Needed Teams: [ **Zero / Spencer / Sent ] [ **Zero / Hulk / Sent ]
I just can’t move away from a Zero team without Sent - it’s too good. The potential is still there since Zero really doesn’t need an assist to get in - more to run interference if that makes any sense.
Nova gives him crazy crossups and unblockables. Spencer and Hulk just have ridiculous DHCs that I want to use. Rest of the tech for them is still pending.
That was my day 1 team and I would really like to know some better strategies for Zero/Nova/Sent. What assist do you use for Nova? Also, the reason I am having trouble with the team is having a midscreen combo for Zero. I could do the jump loop but I’m not to consistent with it.
Thanks in advance.
