Yeah pretty crappy start to 2012.
I thought that Ziggler/Punk was good until the Laurinaitis shenanigans.
Regarding the vignettes, is there going to be a female returning Jericho? Steph maybe? The vignettes tonight seemed to push the female character some.
It’ll be interesting to see what the point of Jericho’s trolling was, besides getting fans pissed off and asking what the point of it was.
No Brodus Clay tonight again. I still think he’s going to turn on Laurinaitis when he finally makes his debut. It’ll be something Punk is in the ring cutting a promo. Out come Laurinaitis and Otunga. Johnny tells Punk that he has a surprise for him, and that it’s a good thing that Punk’s in his ring gear, because his opponent’s been waiting a long time to make his debut and he’s coming out now. Clay’s music hit he comes down towards the ring, maybe Punk looks a bit worried or unsure or something, while Laurinaitis and Otunga have smiles on their faces. Clay’s about to climb in the ring, but suddenly stops. Laurinaitis and Otunga look confused, and suddenly Clay tries to go after Johnny, who pulls Otunga in front of him and runs. Otunga gets laid out by Clay, who then heads to the back. Go to commercial.
Brodus could still be a heel, just someone that didn’t appreciate Laurinaitis keeping him off TV.
I’m still hoping that in the end Laurinaitis is proven to be neutral character just trying to do his job, and he wasn’t behind the any sort plot against Punk or anything. It might be interesting if it was Jericho (and Steph, since it’s hard to believe Jericho has any backstage power) that was behind everything that’s been happening.
I will say though, that dolph Punk MATCH WAS AWESOME. And I like the jericho debut, cuz its soo different from the norm and the trollific possibilities that will come from it.
After the glorious ups, Raw is back to the predictable downs.

Any-who, thoughts on Raw:
-Kane used confusion. IT’S SUPER EFFECTIVE!
-Good match between Cody and Bry, only to be mucked up by Fruit Roll Ups.
-Barrett still getting a push, needs to work on his Black Hole Slam.
-Face? Heel? Anyway, crazy Troof is amusing me.
-There was a divas match, Kharma didn’t have her kid fast enough to stop it. I didn’t give a shit.
-Punk/Ziggler was an awesome match, best part of the whole show. Really like where they’re going with this.
-Jericho, point, leave.
-That ending was just some weird 90’s shit right there.
Was I the only who liked the Jericho promo? Or lack there of? I was laughing my ass off knowing the guy was trolling everybody.

I’m glad you guys are explaining this Jericho situation because this is the lamest debut in a long time, but if its intentionally designed to piss people off, then I’m still on the Jericho hype-train
How did he troll? We all knew it was him or Undertaker anyways, and if trolling consists of going into the ring, failing to generate much of a buzz, then leaving for no reason then by god he did it I guess.
That’s the thing. He came in playing a face in the beginning coming in smiling and hyping shit up. He continues to tease the fans with a promo but continues to run around high fiving fans. He does this for about 10 minutes, walks up the ramp smiling at the fans, knowing that he just ruined his debut, in other words, he had a heel turn without even saying a word. He knew what he was doing. Think about it, the way jericho came out is soo different than what was expected from his End of the World promos and in his highly expected return he leaves the fans dry after teasin em. Jericho trolled the fans and even the smarks who always seem to be on top of things.
This Debut has again proved to me that Jericho is the greatest in creating and bursting into the WWE with innovative gimmicks and characters that he is truly one of the greatest.
I have this odd feeling if they’re going to do a Jericho/Punk thing, then they can use something like this so Jericho can say he doesn’t even have to say ANYTHING to get what he wants from people and to manipulate things, etc.
I think his whole debut is gon be used against the fans to say that their hypocrites for booing him when he left then cheering him like mindless fanboys when he returned. Or something along those lines.
Does this mean we’ll get a “Man of 1000 reactions” promo?
He trolled the audience by denying them what they wanted. Which was an epic Jericho come back. He knew people would mark the fuck out so he just played them like fools. Jericho is heel for real.
As I was watching, I quickly saw that that was the intention; to get the fans all hyped up and then leave them hanging. For me, he was running around the ring and stuff way too long. Maybe it just didn’t seem so watching on tv, but the intial reaction to him didn’t seem all that loud. Maybe that’s why he spent so much time trying to get the crowd hyped. It was a good idea, and there a lot that he can say going forward to set up a feud with Punk, but the execution just wasn’t there for me.
It’ll be interesting to see where this goes, I’m curious about how the vignettes tie into Jericho, but I’m not expecting much. Honestly, the last thing that got me excited in WWE was the Nexus debut, with them tearing up the set, and DBD spitting in Cena’s mouth before kicking him in the head. Totally unexpected. Totally out of the norm. Totally awesome.
I guess it’s official. Jericho can do no wrong. People are praising him for literally doing nothing. All I can say is, this better lead to Jericho and Stephanie teaming up against Punk. If he does the exact same thing next week, I’m going to stop watching Raw. (First threat of 2012 btw).
I don’t think it was a terrible Raw, just very very weird. Can’t wait for more Jeritroll shenanigans next week.
