Taker/Lesnar is good for business too. WWE can expand on that UFC encounter as an angle…

Vince McMahon’s hip problems are set to be legitimate. WWE had Brock Lesnar F5 McMahon at the end of Raw and then ran with the storyline that the chairman suffered a broken hip. The storyline was so that Vince could be written off of TV and get the surgery that he needs.

The change also allows HHH to return as McMahon’s replacement, which can then kickstart his renewed feud with Brock Lesnar leading into WrestleMania.

Keep marketing to kids Vince, that strat is paying dividends.

While WWE Monday Night Raw does better ratings than the average UFC show on FOX, WWE only gets about 33% of the rate that the UFC can demand from advertisers.

Last weekend’s Royal Rumble Fan Fest in Phoenix, Arizona was considered a big success by WWE. The event was set up as a test to gauge fan interest, which turned out to be very strong. WWE is now looking into holding Fan Axxess events in the days leading up the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series

A large chunk comes from ad revenue.
Especially now, It’s why you have 3 or 4 commercials during a main event.

Part of me kinda hopes Taker can’t make Wrestlemania now just so Punk can be inserted to make the WWE Title match a Triple Threat and achieve his dream of main-eventing WM. But the other part knows we’re guaranteed a classic match between Punk/Undertaker.

For the people interested.

WWE reported earlier this week that December’s Tables, Ladders & Chairs PPV did around 170,000 buys. Teh number is down from last year’s 179,000. The show is listed as having 71,000 domestic buys and 99,000 foreign. This is very low and maybe an error. Last year’s show did 98,000 domestic.

October’s Hell in a Cell PPV, which featured Punk vs Ryback in the main event (and no John Cena because of injury) did strong sales. The lower buyrate of TLC is good news for Punk, who wasn’t competing on the show due to injury.

CM Punk not wrestling on the show, which had one of the worst buyrates of the year, is a sign that Punk was a solid PPV draw while he was champion and his matches are whether fans will pay $40+ for a PPV.

They’re road shows generally have GREAT crowds, which really enhances even a sometimes shitty product. Good news for TNA, they need to get out of the Impact Zone by any means neccessary.
