Because NXT ALSO had nothing for them. If theyâre gonna sit around doing nothing, they might as well get paid better.

I donât mind AOP and Sanity being âpausedâ right now instead of them being rushed into anything. I donât want them in a situation like The Revival or Ascension where they get buried early and seemingly canât recover.
The only reason the revival got buried is because Dawson (iirc) got injured right after their debut and then when they redebuted Wilder got injured so they got shelved again.
As for why the ascension got buried. That still puzzles me.
Though the Ascension were never any good (and honestly I only learned to enjoy them slightly due to them having pretty good comedy beats) and the Revival just got hosed by two TERRIBLY timed injuries. WWE can be lenient after one injury if theyâre high enough on you, two badly timed ones will cool you off for over a year. Even Orton was subject to it. Cena is pretty much the only one to avoid the cool offâŚand thatâs arguable as in the middle of his two injuries, while he won the Rumble, he basically got punked every month afterwards until Batista took him out again.
