I just had this bizarre idea about Roman, and since I feel like I might be this thread’s biggest advocate for him, here it is.
Roman ain’t funny-- at all-- nor is he particularly pleasant. A heel turn, as a lot of people opined, would be great for him, and I feel like I know a way to do it. His angle leading to his incredibly shit Mania match was that he took this business very seriously and resented Brock’s lackadaisical attitude. He could very easily, then, turn on the fans as well, telling them that all they want are part-time freak shows and dancing goofballs like the New Day and John Cena. That would make him a perfect partner for the floundering Baron Corbin, and the two could form a grimdark “we’re the only ones with any respect for this business and fuck all of you” tag team.

I’ve also heard whisperings of a Finn Bálor heel turn, and would like to opine that that isn’t a thing that should happen. If he’s going to feud with Rollins, then Rollins should turn heel. Bálor has that “I sure do love the gays” thing going on, and since the social justice warriors (as well as the social justice monks, warlocks, wizards, bards, and rogues) of the wrestling fandom are quite fond of that, turning him heel would work against the company.
