The Wrestling Thread 2017: Thanks for the great year! New Thread Open!

A 43-year old vs. a 53-year old, both cruiserweights with shot-as-fuck bodies.

Color me not impressed.

They already had a match back in the dayā€¦

Yeah, in WCW, where cruiserweights went to die.

Hell, I heard that NJPW was pretty pissed when Liger had to drop the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title to Juvi.

They had a marquee match at starrcade 96 when liger returned from a brain tumor

Cruiserweights werenā€™t really buried until the russo regime

Just like all non-main eventers they couldnā€™t work hogan, piper, savage, flair mostly because they were all part timers

I would have loved '97 eddie guerrero vs '97 roddy piper for the us title

rey can still go. ive watched his indy stuff and he just moves like a big man, he may not be doing backflips n shit but he moves just fine. its not shot

al snow explaining the wrestling punch. interesting stuff if your into psychology of wrestling

That rey/ospreay match from
Wcpw is one to watch because it shows how good rey still is.

Just watch his stuff with pentagon, fenix, fantasma/king cuerno, ricochet, jack evans, morrison, fuck dude is still dope against alberto del rio. I mean rey even had a good match with curt hawkins.

Liger can still do good stuff at 50. It isnā€™t as sad as nakanishi now compared to when nakanishi beat tanahashi 10 years ago.

But liger/mysterio had 2 great matches in wcw. The starrcade 96 match was higher on the card than ultimo/malenko cw title

And was treated with respect by heenan and dusty

Rey can still go. Like X-pac can still go. I really want those two in a match again.

205live tournament format is cool af.

I like how good the mixed match challenge is characterwise.

Mandy Rose is going to be so over as this genā€™s trish. She has all the tools.

The usos keep cutting these career making promos. I am looking forward to that wyatts runback. You know the usos will bring up the history. But man i would have the usos just get obliterated at fast lane and build a comeback story for 34.

Bludgeons need a weasel type of manager. I would throw funaki with them as they are a mr fuji away from demolition.

And the point of all this wasā€¦?

Just to have fun, but everyone wanted to treat it seriously or as a Wrestlemania angle.

Why wouldnā€™t anyone treat it seriously?
Itā€™s 2 non wrestlers allegedly having backstage drama over a job position.

Thereā€™s literally no possible pay off to it so thereā€™s no reason to think itā€™s a storyline.

Because both had complimented each other endlessly literally days before the ā€œsupposed incidentā€ and neither are the type to air that shit out on a public stage.

Anyone who thought it was real were fucking stupid. But ultimately, ā€œPeople always find what theyā€™re looking forā€.

I guessā€¦congrats to them forā€¦trolling people into thinking Bookerā€¦ is an asshole?

Killian the Beastā€¦

Edit: Rey is in awesome shape and his stem cell treatment for his knees has worked wonders, he ainā€™t mod 90ā€™s Mysterio but the guy can go a lot better than he has in years (his Ultima Lucha match with Prince Puma in particular was absolutely outstanding). Liger is in absolutely incredible shape for 53 with 30+ years of wrestling and he can still have a really good match.
Iā€™m not expecting anything amazing, just a bit of fun watching two living legends wrestle eachother in front of a rabid crowd.

They wanted to have fun and get eyes on Bookerā€™s podcast, that was their goal and it worked.

Dain has been a revelation, he is the master of beating a motherfucker with another motherfucker and itā€™s clear the brass see a lot in him.

He needs to be taller and have dry hair, he looks like a bassist for nickelback or something

Dude is good, but i cannot buy him as more dangerous than Lars or AoP

If only dude was taller

He is pretty much almost blue meanieā€™s size

He is a good big man though

Just got back from a Raw house show and it was a lot of fun. Main event was Cena-Reigns and the crowd didnā€™t know wtf to do. Also, whoever posted that Bray Wyatt record counter showing all his Lsā€¦, add another one

Dain is actually pretty tall though, heā€™s billed at 6ā€™4 and looks around the same height as Lars.

Well he looked barely taller than undisputed era who are tiny

The shortest person on TUE is Bobby Fish who is 5ā€™10, on top of that he was leaning on the damn ropes.
