When they killed the brand extension, they really didn’t have the roster for it. That’s no longer true.
I’m down with a brand extension, but it really needs to be separate and not sending top guys back and forth when needed. It can keep things fresh.
Have HHH run one while Dunn runs the other one. It solves the problem of who likes who. Perhaps it may lead to a rivalry where each guy is trying to make better shows than the other.
They can even do a draft of NXT people each year.
Will not happen, part of the reason Heyman had so much heat when he ran SD is because he was beating Raw in everything. Vince and Dunn hated this down to their core and basically once Heyman was fired, did everything to make sure that would never happen again.
Unfortunately this is true, you can show up Dunn, he’ll just go and bitch to Vince.
But if you show up Vince you’re fucked.
Though HHH might be able to get away with it, if Steph and he can sell it to the old man.
Heyman mentioned on Jerichos podcast that Vince, Dunn and a few other higher ups got extremely pissed at him because Heyman was questioning why a RAW commentary team would close a RAW show. Heyman told Dunn and Vince (with Tazz and Cole next to Heyman) that he would rather have all of his A-team on his show than b-team announcers closing the real flagship show since SD! Programming was beating RAW in ratings and ppv buys at the time.

If we have a soft brand extension
Midcarders and orton on smackdown and main eventers on raw it could be cool.
The midcard belts could matter. Wwe used to have wwf/ic/euro/hardcore/tag/womens and each belt had a division full of guys who encompassed it.
The roster is still big but they used the same guys on raw and smackdown making the audience sick of people.
Ending the brand extension killed a lot of people’s pushes.
But hey with nxt getting bloated and talent about to get called up. Brand extension with unified tag and world champ is fine.
Us and ic belts become more important by proxy
Having the wwe champion be brock and making rare appearances making that belt important as a spectacle would facilitate making midcArd belts into something to want instead of the “here’s a belt now you will job until you lose it”

The reason we hear michael cole all the time is that cole is a Paul Heyman guy
Well, when Vince was competing against Heyman with SD vs RAW we got some of the best wrestling on TV I’ve ever seen.
Seriously, that brief period where Heyman was lead writer for SD was totally nuts in terms of the quality we got.
There’s probably about 30 active guys on the main roster. You’ll need at least double that for a true extension.

Heath Slater is already in Perfect Form, so that must mean he’s going to get a title shot against Cena or Brock.
Another fact is that 3MB lasted longer than The Shield.
Look at nxt they have tons of guys who haven’t debuted
They are fast tracking Kalisto to the main roster to replace rey and he’s teaming with sin cara who is still a huge merch seller even as an underneath guy. Look at the crowd and sin cara masks are starting to over take the rey mysterio ones.
They are running a tag tourney with all their guys who are main roster ready. The women in nxt can work their asses off and well too much talent
You can bring in 15 guys and 3 girls right now to make an instant impact on quality. Sami Zayn is doing the international tours because he is a hhh guy.
I agree. That was 10+ years ago and things have changed. I imagine Vince likes HHH better than Heyman. Plus, Vince needs more WWE Network subscribers, so I would hope he wouldn’t play favorites if HHH’s show does better than Dunn’s.
Oh well. One of the many things to wish for in the WWE.
Make no mistake Vince does what Vince wants. If he is willing to push his own son out of the business, he will damn sure tell HHH no, infact he has several times already.
WWE ain’t gotta debut a massive influx of NXT talent in a short amount of time. When Trips became in charge of talent relations he didn’t want creative bringing up anybody unless they had 6 months worth of plans for the guy. We don’t need any more Adam Roses.
