Sami Zayn is such an enigma. A middle eastern ginger who was born and raised in French Canada, speaks 3 languages and wrestled as a luchador from Mexico,
I’m really disappointed in the number of RAW and Smackdown replays has on the network right. I stopped watching wrestling completely the week after WWE bought WCW. I had stopped watching WCW well before then, and WWE’s stupid storylines had exhausted me to the point that I didn’t care anymore. Anyway, I wanted to start watching RAWs, Smackdowns, and PPVs from that point up to when Voldemort offed himself and his family, which is when I started watching again.
I get that they are trickling in content to keep people hooked but it’s looking really sparse. I think I looked at RAWs for 2001, and there were like 7 episodes.
It was noted earlier this year that the payoffs for WrestleMania XXX ended up being way better than what was expected by the talents. Many believed that the WWE Network launch would hurt WrestleMania bonuses but that apparently was not the case.
Payoffs are now in for the first pay-per-view events after WrestleMania with the new formula and they were described as “really bad.” This could be a sign that talents are being paid based on pay-per-view revenue and that they’re not receiving anything extra from the pay-per-view revenue that’s been eliminated due to the Network.
There are reportedly some talents who are being taken care of and some who have deals in place that prevent something like this from happening to them. That is not the case with the majority of talents on the roster.
What a surprise. Seriously I wish. I repeat, I WISH, some of these wrestlers would put aside their differences and unionize. However, that will never happen as long as they need to work PAYCHECK to PAYCHECK.
THis is why I respect CM PUNK more and more for leaving and staying away. Hey, why stay at an employer that is fucking up and keeps fucking up.
BTW I am hoping that New Japan has their PPV’s in America with Good Ole JR as the announcers. They are getting alot of buzz among wrestling fans in this country (and for good reason) and it might take a chunk out of the audience who is tired of the American product.
