The Wrestling Thread 2015 - IN THE BOOKS! PLEASE LOCK THREAD MODS!

Do it for the conditioning if anything. Wrestling physical fitness is hell. My friend is a wrestling coach and puts his kids through hell on the regular.

new prowrestling org coming out on the el rey network. i dont get the channel but i am interested. john morrison, some AAA luchas and some indy people are working it. as well as vampiro on commentary lmfao.

i just turned 30. i was so focused on martial arts for most of my 20s and traveling for tournaments i never did wrestling. i was a backyard wrestler for a year in 2003. but when everyone stopped i just focused on tricking and martial arts tournaments. But then i realized this school was actually closer than kowalski’s. Which is an hour away and id never make it on time from work. sadly.

i live in massachusetts.

I was going to do it in 2003 right out of high school, wanted to do aws, but asian parents, so i went to college and worked.

Started bjj due to need to lose weight, but this would sort of be a bucket list thing for me.

I knew willie mack back then and a bunch of the original pwg guys. Joey Ryan is an eskimo brother.

Especially with me doing gotch style workouts really feel like i can physically do it. Or at least help out dumb kids who think dangerous spots and flips means getting booked.

I asked Josh Barnett about it, only school he recomended was santino bros.

If i was single most definitely i would do it.

Being more physically imposing than a lot of indy guys has me wanting to work with guys.

Plus i want to take ref bump like a 90s HbK bump

My physical fitness is fine, i been doing mile runs, body weight and hindu squats and all that bridging for grappling.

I never get why people go into wrestling school fat or out of shape.

i feel like alot of people think the school does everything for them. smh

I mean when i heard cabana talk about how he trained like an animal before going to wrestling school and seeing how jacked he was i am thinking why don’t more kids do that

Ricochet didn’t do anything until he started lifting.

Tough Enough also established to me that i would need to be expertly conditioned to even do wrestling school.

Guys talking about puking and quitting because they couldn’t keep up.

Chris Jericho and Lance Storm share their story of being the only guys in the class who came in shape.

It has never been that fucking cheap. If i go i know all i will do those 20 classes is squats, pushups, wind sprints, and conditioning.

Pretty much the same shit i put myself through daily.

So if i go i will probably have the best conditioning, i do breakfalls all the time in grappling. And i think i can run ropes and appreciate the rope burn. The only thing i hope for is to be put in there with guys who know that it’s a work.

Oh well. 20 lessons. I got a short clock and a bunch of connections really. Twitter and facebook.

In mma and grappling training we do get the pukers, but most of those guys have never been pushed aggressively or physically at all.

Dude if maxx lived out here i would go class with him as the only two grown ass men in the class.

Konnan talked about aaa:america all the time. I get el rey on my package.

Seriously we’d probably go in as the only two in shape guys with any knowledge of wrestling in the nineties

Batista and DDp didn’t start until they hit 30…

Look at these bumbs, theorhetically bet we could set a way more reallistic and pretty grappling segment without ever going over anything.

lol. jericho and lance were the only inshape dudes…at the fucking dungeon?!

I’ve been watching all of the old Nitros on the network.

Does anyone know how and when the big gold belt got that dent/bend at the top of it?

I remember noticing it years ago when I was watching but I thought I was just seeing things, but watching this all again, it’s definitely bent at the top. I’d searching for an answer and there’s some talk about it, but there’s no real answer as to what happened.

Ric Flair returned it like that

Hulk Hogan has the real big gold belt, unless he gave it to hhh

Don’t know if you read Jericho’s autobiography, but it wasn’t the Dungeon or anything resembling it. In fact, when Jericho saw Bret Hart around that time and told him he would be training at a Hart school, Bret replied that he didn’t know one existed.

The only involvement the Harts had was Keith Hart showing up the first day of Jericho’s and Storm’s class, taking their money, and then briefly stretching Jericho. (Keith was/is a surly, scummy piece of shit that didn’t appreciate Jericho asking “smart” questions) After that, he was never seen again. Both Storm and Jericho were trained by an old man named Ed Langley, who was using an instructional booklet written by Stu Hart.

Yup. And all the hart dungeon consisted of was flattened foam mats from years of use and some free weights. Other than that. Bupkis.

It was basically a way for stu to get off on stretching people who had no clue what grappling was.

Kratos iz dat yoo?

Main Event is live and naomi/paige were crushing out there

Who is the heel now? Paige did not lay out aj on raw, but here aj wallops her with the belt to boos

Was that a heel turn?

It’s confusing with both of them trying to out crazy each other. Maybe AJ is a tweener?

Rollins pulling off the Pussy scumbag heel very well, not Edge level Pussy but still a good Pussy.

Of course it wasn’t a heel turn. Cole would have condemned her actions if she turned. Also, AJ only took action because Paige cheated to win a match.

I’m happy for the guy. I used to watched him when he was on the Aftermath show here in Canada.

He is another vanilla boardcaster? The WWE are overloaded with them.

I thought WWE were on a budget cut and trying to get rid of the useless? I remember Josh Matthews trying to be a heel commentator for NXT…

He was the wrestling guy for the fight network and was a sports broadcaster same as renee young

Wwe always likes sean mooney types. Not so much on commentary, but as espn style analyst

Scott Stanford is the best type of those guys they have, but he works for a news station in new york already
