Not gonna make any character suggestions. Capcom’s not reading this and even still they probably got the message by now. I’m sure new characters are being crunched right now. The threads at Capcom Unity are most likely for next year’s character packs. Having said that, I may dream up more wishlists until I am told to stop because it’s plain fun to design moves and discuss them. Secondly, I have desires for MvC3 outside of characters.

While I initially found the lack of spectator mode as disappointing as everybody else, I recently reflected on that. MvC3 has more crap happening on screen, in sharp 3D, than any fighting game of comparable design (going way back to Rival Schools). Don’t think about the characters and effects, think about all assets on screen. The background, the sound, the shifting music… A damn galaxy appear in the background during team hypers. Frankly it’s amazing the game connects people at this quality, even if it’s still syrupy. So we spectate lifebars instead. Great. How about this: A live ticker that tracks major events of the match. Big combos, hypers, tags, cross-counters, DHCs, KOs, and more events of the match would be highlighted on a scroll as it happens in the match. The lifebars should also shift in accordance to who’s on point. If we can’t have a working spectator mode, I can live with this.

I love the team reserves, even if people seem to forget it exists. But I like to color coordinate my teams and call them by name. When I choose colors in the License Card, I would like to see at least little jpeg icons of the characters so I don’t have to remember each character’s ‘number/color’. I would also like to name my teams, and have the name show up on the ‘comic book cover’ of the team after choosing them. The name could show up over or under a player’s card during the match start-up. Wouldn’t add to gameplay but people would like it (like me).

You’d think there would be a website where you can view people’s licenses… Maybe even post cards as links on other websites (for sigs and such).

Since homebrew soundtracks were kinda popular for older versions of MvC2, maybe a modern take on that should be added to MvC3. XB360 can already burn music into the HDD, and games like the WWE SvR series take advantage - so how about ‘dynamic user music’ for your gameplay? You could have a simple user interface where you assign your own music for whichever character or stage you want. People won’t be able to hear it online, but who cares.
