It’s really strange, all I’ve gotten are positive responses on PS3, and all I’ve gotten on XBL are negative responses. PS3 is like “GG, your Akuma is really good”, “GGs, add me, I suck”, “Good fight, how did you ________?”. XBL is like “OH MY FUCKING GOD YOU FUCKING CHEATER FUCKER”, “PLAY ME IN HALO AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS”, “GET A LIFE NERD”, etc.
Just got a double dose of hatemail in the same room!

Nah it’s not just you. Actually it’s pretty obvious why no one wants to play ranked matches. Player matches are more fun and it brings back that nostalgia of staying at the front of the arcade cabinet and sending the scrubs back to the quarter machine. Plus the ability to have 6 people in the room who can leave and come in at any time allows for diverse play and really interesting conversations. Also you don’t get people purposely leaving games to pad stats. Players will just play games out now like they’re at the arcade since all they have to lose is their pride. You’ll mainly get shitty players with big egos in ranked matches when the player matches have so much more to offer.
If you lived near MD or VA you’d know what he meant when he said that. Eric Kim (who has a similar SRK name to yours) is the top Makoto player on the east coast in 3S. He also plays ST. His Xbox Live name is MightyKim which is based on his real name and not his SRK name. Actually I’m going near his house this weekend to play games before NEC. So basically the guy was completely mistaken.

I sent a guy a “gg” a few days ago and he thought I was inviting him to play Guilty Gear.
I get so many hate messages that it’s hilarious. The problem is that I don’t know what game they are complaining about me on. lol
I’m a top community member on Burnout Paradise and Criterion Games (the developer) recognized me (and a handful of other people) for it and gave us a unique car. No one’s ever seen the car before online, and when they found out why I had it and that they (everyone else playing) could not, they all jumped my shit. I went out that night and came home and saw the “You have received a new messsage.” notification on my PS3. Boy were they right. Something like 300 messages from people bitching and hating on me and 60+ friends requests in about 12 hours and one death threat. Seriously. Anyways, because of the whole fiasco, the company just ended up giving the car away to everyone.
Playing Vega in SFHDR and doing somewhat well with him just pisses people off. Now I’m not constantly wall diving (though I should be, probably) or only doing tick throws. I got about 10 messages from the friends of this one guy I beat. He was flipping out and calling me a cheater because I pulled off Vega’s wall dive super and grabbed Bison out of his Psycho Crusher so he got all his friends to bitch at me too. I have gotten so many “fuck u dirty taco” messages that I’ve lost track.
So when I get home tonight… even though I barely played anything other than some LittleBigPlanet last night, I already know I’m going to have maybe 15 or 20 hate messages when I turn on my PS3 in a few hours.
I am SO glad that PSN doesn’t support reputation like the 360.

Today I fought a Bison player, and after I beat him pretty soundly, I said “good game,” and he replied, in the most chipper British accent:

I started learning Sagat today, hosted a player match against a dude, wirednakotomi or something like that. He was beating me pretty well, as to be expected as it’s my first match experience with sagat. He’s switching up characters and giving me a lot of exposure, so after about 8 whoopings i decide to switch to cammy and see how i do against him with a character i actually have learned a bit.
Proceed to rattle off 9 straight, using basic cammy shenanigans (meaty Fierce into hooligan, crossup ticks, double cannon drill, etc.) and get this gem in my mailbox.
“Nice lag throws u ***, way to abuse the system, hope ur proud”
I just replied with a link to SRK and a “merry xmas! :-)” all i got back was “DIE!”

Are people so naive they presume they will instantly, INSTANTLY dominate the entire world at a game after five minutes in hand?
Reminds me of SC4, where players are like “shit this game is broken, I use tactics and lose to spammers”. Usually, these people are just newbs who presume jumping around trying to GI everything (and failing) is tactical in some way.
