Yeah I don’t do ranked matches since I feel they’re pretty meaningless. Sounds like a revisting of CVS2 EO where people just drop on you when you win matches and personally I’ve never cared to be ranked by the internet or other computer figures. Everyday is a new day and anyone can be on top of a player match game on any day if they’re in the right mindset. I like the more social aspect of staying on top of a player match room like you used to at the arcade. I feel more of an incentive to win in player matches because of what I have to go through if I lose than a ranked match where I honestly don’t care where 1’s and 0’s want to rank me. All they need to do now is fix the disconnecting issues and I for sure won’t be touching any of the other modes.
Send me a friend request though (I’m gonna clear my list up tonight) and next time I get on you’ll probably find me in a room with some other solid players. I usually am never in a room full of bad players since I always beat them so bad to the point where they leave and then people who know they can compete will start showing up. 2/3 rounds makes 6 player rooms go much faster any ways. Especially with better players. A lot of times the scrubs and nubs want to do 3/5 rounds since they know their lack of skill isn’t going to allow them to play much more than that one match.
Tournament mode is pretty laughable too since you can’t even watch other matches that are in progress. If you lose you can’t even watch the final match to entertain yourself with or learn things from. Kinda useless there. I understand that’s probably due to bandwith reasons but still. Plus it only allows 8 players which destroys a lot of potential it would have had for serious online tourneys.
I had a guy send me a message after a victory with M.Bison (throwing of course) over his cheap ass Akuma and he sent me a paragraph on why I shouldn’t have won. “Ur just a scrub, throwin me after that weak ass cross up.” Or something like that.
His name was Wilbx or somethin and he ALWAYS uses Akuma after he gets beat with his Ryu. He took the time to type out a long complaint against my Bison (which isn’t even that good, I just try to throw all day without regard for anything… but who cares?). Always nice.
Also, I’ve had someone message me after I “tapped” threw them with T.Hawk, (What else am I supposed to do?) then he went on to proclaim I wouldn’t win another round, which I did with Ken in an easy fashion with 2 straight victories. He then sent me a msg saying “pussy hurts”, which I don’t even know what that means. This was some guy named SideWayz somethin… I forget all these foos actual gamertags.
Then there are guys like Vv Quest vV, who when I played him and came close to winning (he still beat me) he said stuff like “you’re lucky man!!” and when I actually won he started saying how lucky I was. These guys don’t think I have a mic but then I turn it on and say something like “whatever man, as long as I win, I don’t care if it was luck.” And then they just get tongue-tied. THere have been a couple more that I can’t remember.
Same guy messaged me after I beat his Bison with Sagat.
He was my first hate mail. I feel validated now. lolz.
Said I was cheap for not fighting his Bison with Sagat and just throwing him the corner for some good ol fashioned tiger shot lockdown. Like I’m really gonna fight one of the guys with one of the scariest offense toe to toe.
Called me a cheap fuck and yes…he hit me with the classic…Chickenshit.
Another guy…BostonBaby sent me another message after a really good game with my Sagat vs his Fei Long.
I won with a tick throw. He called me a fuckin cheeser.
It’s funny cuz I used FAR more cheese with Ryu then I EVER did with Sagat, but for some reason Sagat just brings out the hate in people.
I find that people will bitch, complain and moan regardless of how they lost. After receiving my latest hate mail I simply sent “how would you like me to beat you?”

Yeah, people would get seriously pissed if you were to cheese the repeatedly or tap throw a lot. Back then we played with “honor”, lol, the fuck ever. It’s win however you want to time. There is always a way to beat the other person regardless of their strategies or tactics, that is, unless you just suck and can’t adapt.
I get most of my hate out loud, and it’s rarely more than a few muttered curses. Plus, most players seem pretty friendly. Even the guys who get annoyed while I’m playing Honda end up friending me to try again later. All that said, this is the only hate mail I’ve received - it’s not much, but it means a lot to me.
Also, I think a big shout out to EJRaven on XBL is in order. That guy spent some 20-30 minutes whining that the entire game was broken because Blanka can throw and Honda can headbutt, and there’s nothing any character can do about it. He suggests that any of you who win with Honda and/or Blanka are, in fact, newbs with no skill. He’ll even play you with either character, lose, and then explain how that proves his point.
Learn a new character now, before the reckoning comes.
