Stop caring about levels and ranks that’s exactly the kind of attitude that spawns this sort of behavior in the first place. I really dislike the fact that BB included a level system as everyone uses that as a judge of a persons skill level when you can simply grind to that level yourself. I’ve seen level 20’s take on level 30-40 people and just dominate the match. Unfortunately, I also see people use levels as a reason to not challenge someone altogether either because they are too good or they are too low. The only benefit of the system is to use it roughly as a gauge to find someone around your skill level but in all honesty it’s terribly inaccurate.
It’s obviously inaccurate but I kind of assumed that at higher levels I would be running into more people who are actually playing for the sheer experience and are taking the time to really learn their characters. It’s not always the case, but I’m definitely getting a higher percentage of decent players since I’ve been in the 30’s. I don’t look at anyone’s level and assume anything. I just keep playing ranked in hopes that the better players are going to be leveling up more quickly then the rest which will put me in more likely position to play someone worth while.
I played people like this and if they don’t use the ice surfing move they don’t how to get inside, or what to do period.
I had a guy ragequit on me 3 times yesterday. Same guy. It offered me like 10 matches with him in ranked. I thought it was odd. Apparently he doesn’t know how to fight Arakune.
I finally buckled down and fought him again. Determined to beat him and have it count. He switched from ragna to Tager, and got owned before he could quit. I was happy.
On a side note, I’ve been complimenting those that I enjoyed the match. Win or lose. Generally get nice comments back from them as well. Only had one be a jerk about it.
“GG. I loved playing that Noel. You are really good.”
“Go to hell. I lost. Don’t have to rub it in.”
He lost in the third round because I lured him in with nothing left, baited the D shot, teleport, grab, distort, win. I got lucky.
I’m on Live and I’ve had some people rage quit on me, but in the 300 or so games I’ve played its only been 9 people. And I play Tao and know my drive loops, which seems to piss people off to no end.
Hell, I don’t even get hatemail Maybe I’m just not good enough yet.
ive had a nu and a rachel complain about how OP tager is. the rachel even ragequit on me (verge of double perfect). had a good arakune ragequit but he didnt say anything to me.
As Arakune I play scrubbishly a lot, usually spamming 2C because for some reason it works on people , so I got into a ranked match with a Tager who started complaining about me constantly using that move (something along the lines of “did you learn a any other move?”). He flat-out pounded me and wondered how I got so high level. I sent him a thank you message for calling me out and hoped to fight him for realz sometime. He’s on my friends list now :looney:
Me and some guy named “theturntablist” had some pretty funny ones. I beat his nu with taokaka who I had been playing for maybe like an hour or even less.
He messages me “lol. only play nub characters?”
So… him playing nu, me playing taokaka and I have the noob character? Hm… time for comebacks.
So I send him something like “You do realize nu is the best in the game and like freaking god tier right and only has to spam 5,4D?”
He replies back " LOL. Tiers are for people like you who want to whine and bitch all day about balance"
So I say this " Ok buddy, supposed tiers that don’t exist for this game are this.
- Nu
- Rachel
- Arakune
- Jin
Now please … PLEASE go into true skill ranking and tell me the top 20 character spots. Oh wait you don’t have to cause I know already. Nu, Rachel, Arakune, Jin.
Then the messages stop. But seriously the rankings are as such minus I think one hakumen named tocchi or something.
I had one ragequitter, but I’ve actually got quite a few compliments from people after playing my Bang on them.
Ew, I think Tager IS way OP; that fucker just destroys, DESTROYS; ughhhhhh… I hate fighting him more than any other character now…bleh.
Why do all Nu players think that knife in the face to slash, teleport behind thing is going to work? Isn’t she like god tier, and they’re doing that shit?..what gives?
I haven’t gotten any bad mail in the last few days. I’m kind of surprised.
I also went 1 for 9 yesterday, but all of them were fantastic, down to the last few hits in the third round matches.
Recboy: cheatin bitch!
Me: cat chair > noel drive spam
Recboy: Fuck off u fuckin cheater learn some new moves u prick
I’ve gotten so tired of Noel drive spammers, I’ve just started to cat-chair them to death anytime I come across one. This guy in particular I nearly perfected him one round with nothing but cat-chair and projectiles. At one point I even had negative penalty, but he still couldn’t manage to get in close without getting hit with either a lobelia, pumpkin, or rushing right into my cat-chair.
Bah, I must admit I cracked after fighting atleast 10 Arakune’s STRAIGHT (DIFFERENT ONES) I got pissed off at all the spamming and shit, so the 11th one I fought (the only one to beat me). Ended up with a PM full of bullshit from me, which turned into us trying to prove who had the bigger fighting game cock.
He probably didn’t deserve my shit, but seriously fighting that little ball of fucking goo nonstop got to me…I HATE HIM! FUCKING BEE’S.
Not a message after the game, but close: I haven’t been playing BB for more than four days, and I’ve picked up Tager as my main, but admittedly I’m not that great yet. Hopped in a Player match 3-man room, was first up vs. a Nu. He plays pretty typical run-n-sword spam with an occasional C when I get in close. I sledge through the swords for the most part and slam out some cookie-cutter combos when I get in close. Beat him first round, then second round he gets me damn low on health but I manage to squeeze out the 720 Distortion Drive. He pops on the mic and goes, “Oh… and there’s your Distortion Drive finish. Haha.” and I reply on my headset “Heh, good game, man.” Three seconds after getting back to lobby, I’m kicked from the game.
Afterwords I send him a voice message, “Really? You kicked me after I beat you in one match? Wow, good game… good game…” Nu player gotta learn to cope with anger a bit better.
So I take it the majority of hate mail is on the 360. I haven’t recieved a single hate mail despite maining Jin. I’ve had many complements about my Jin as I don’t spam Ice Car or C Mash.
From a Noel who only used drive.
Close match, I baited his burst, then punished with Magna-tech wheel.
He played a okay Jin.
Some others.
The other day I played a pretty good Nu player named ‘iLikeThought’ or something to that extent. Anyway, he beat my Ragna pretty hard the first game with his Arakune, then the second time with his Nu. I left because there was absolutely no way for me to compete with this guy – and I wanted to go make me a sandwich. He sends me a message that says: “lol sad gg pussy”. I only responded by telling him he’s nerd raging, but still. Why the hell would he get upset about something like that? Either mental in-maturity or someone has a God Complex, me thinks.
I got the crap beat out of me last night by a really good Jin player, so I complimented him on it. Does anyone do the same when they lose badly? I was just damn impressed at how soundly I lost.
I do. I very rarely send GG messages when I win, I feel like most people would find that to be sarcastic.
For some reason my Xbox lags badly when I open up the dashboard to send a message, so I often don’t bother. But if it really was an absolute thrashing I’ll usually send a compliment.
