All right, thanks. I figured I’d rather find out now instead of getting my hopes up.
One more episode to go… Darryl’s rage over losing his brother will wash over him and he’ll do something stupid and challenge the governor… and dies next episode. Prison group gets double dose of rage, prison is lost, woodbury destroyed, go back to live with morgan and start over again.
Ready for next season yet?
The show at this point is 70% giving the fans what they want, and 30% about making sense. Redeeming Merle by saying “oh, he’s a good guy, the Governor just corrupted him” even though the whole cause of Merle leaving Woodbury was him not doing what the Gub said. Having a face-to-face showdown between Gubz and Rick.
The fans love Durl. No fucking way do they kill him off. They’re also not going to kill off Glen until they hook up Andrea and Rick. Only room for one romance story at a time.
Not sure if anybody’s mentioned this but The Walking Dead season finale is on at the same time on Sunday as Game of Thrones’ season premiere. That’s gonna be kind of interesting ratings-wise I’d imagine.
I love how new fans of Walking Dead insist that if a character is well liked and very popular, they are safe.
Its just so cute.

It’s not like the show has a history of killing popular characters…

Andrea and Rick? No. Just no.
As a reminder, in the books a milestone issue #100 celebrated it by killing off one of its most popular and beloved characters.
They know the love for Darryl, and they have him emotionally unbalanced at the start of a season finale.
You’d be a fool to think he’s safe.

All I’m saying is if he dies TWD loses money.
The question is would the producers and writers be willing to toss out free money in order to tell a compelling story.
How would him dying tell a compelling story? Killing a fan favorite isn’t compelling, it’s sensational. Killing him would not only lose the show money but the story would greatly suffer since he brings an aspect to the show nobody else does.

If he dies for a purpose, in an actual place in the story that requires it, then it would tell a compelling story.
I’m not saying he SHOULD die. I agree, he brings something good to the show. But as bad as losing Daryl would be to our viewership and their money…the show being predictable wouldn’t be any more helpful. Without the feeling that anyone can really die…it kills some of the effect of the show.
Basically the only remotely popular character would’ve been black guy #1. Even then, he wasn’t even actually popular.
Sorry bro, but it’s gonna happen (assuming they don’t kill off Andrea in the season finale, which they almost certainly won’t, but who knows? She might’ve gotten a movie deal).
They could have an interesting story where he just so happens to die, but you are correct that there’s no way they’re going to give him the Dale treatment.
Going to be a tough day today with the season finale of TWD and new season premiere of GOT in the same time slot if you are a fan of both shows.
