It would’ve actually been kind of cool if people actually lost weight over the course of the show, but we all know that wasn’t going to happen. For being nomads for 7-8 months, everyone looks like they’ve still been eating well. Except Lori. Somehow she’s still skinny as fuck but has a magical basketball underneath her clothing.
Well, it would kind of be douchey to have the actors starve themselves to add to the atmosphere of the show.

Well, when you’re trying to paint a semi-realistic picture, it’s usually comes with the job. For example, it would’ve been pretty silly if Tom Hanks remained a chubby business man after spending 10 years alone on a deserted island in Cast Away.
