I always pronounced Michonne’s name “Mee-SHOWN/SHONE” (like she has some creole background and thus, a french-sounding name) but everybody else who says her name calls her “Muh-SHO-nay”, like she’s ghetto-fabulous. Has Kirkman ever elaborated on the right way to say her name?
I’m not sure why, but that event horrified me. Maybe because it was so mundane and casual. I used to think the zombies were the worst way to go out. Death by stabbing or gunshot was relatively peaceful…but THIS? Man, damn, that was so BASIC it makes you cringe. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if the death was instant. I don’t know. But this seemed by far one of the worst deaths, and I really didn’t even give a crap about said character except in the tv series. He was always just background decor in the comics. But the WAY he went out…damn
And that’s why so many poser-fans are dropping the comic. They want the heroes to all stay alive, standing tall, as if it’s THEIR story instead of Kirkman’s, and if they can’t get the ending they want, they’ll pack their shit and go home. They don’t seem to understand that the comic takes place in a world where shit happens, there is no justice, and people will be killed by assholes who are better armed, have more numbers, or just plain get lucky. Or by accident. Hell, I’m surprised Carl didn’t accidentally shoot someone messing around with his gun when he thought he was alone and they came looking for him.

I’m not displeased with what was done, but displeased with whom it was done to. Going by your logic, Rick should’ve lost way more in Woodbury. Same goes for Carl.
Hell, the video game contradicts “Kirkman’s story”. one minute we loss a nobody that came off as a possible longevity character, then we lose a solid longevity character like it’s nothing in the comic. where’s the established middle ground? it’s either far left or far right with his “choices”. We get it. Kirkman loves to kill off characters, but he really has some poorly thought out ways of doing it.
Well let’s be honest, there’s only one real way the comic (and the show) can end, and that’s with everyone dead. It shouldn’t be about people overcoming and living and making a whole new world, it should be about people just surviving, just trying to add an extra minute to their lifespans. That’s what a zombie apocalypse is. There’s no living, there’s no happy ending. There’s only despair, which makes the few fleeting moments of happiness all the more special in this bleak world. If people can’t handle that, they’re better off watching RomComs.
I’m just wondering if this series is essentially going to go the “Game of Thrones” [Fire Emblem sorta takes this stance as well but sometimes you are to blame if you forgot to heal a certain someone] route of where… don’t get attached to anyone because everyone fucking dies. Probably why I can’t watch/read the books since my friends were already blubbering over he/she dying in the books/TV series (for Game of Thrones). I don’t mind Deaths so much but when it comes to how “Game of Thrones” way of just… flat out murdering everyone is kinda like… well I shouldn’t get attached to anyone. This seems like it could be the route that this series may take given how Zombie Apocalypse can truly show the ugliness of people come out to the point that… I rather deal with a horde of walkers than an organized group of murderers.

This aint fucking Shakespeare, but this aint suppose to be Disney either. I just think people forget that they are catering to an American audience and we’re not culturally use to really bad endings and outcomes. Do you think Blade Runner would be so popular if the 4th skin job was killed and the main character was arrested/killed? Hell, they had to make multiple versions a the same damn movie for a reason. You got to “get” your audience and sell them what they want. You can have burger joint and only sale salads for vegans. You have to have things already established comic/episode one that everybody is gonna get fucking killed, one way or the other. Comics and movies is revolved around fantasy and entertainment but this aint no Blues or a Emo music video. people like to see others suffer because they’re currently suffering in some way shape or form. This is suppose to be like an escape from current reality. Let’s be real, why do people bother to watch or read anything related to zombies? To see people get ate the fuck up.

some directors and authors get lost in the drama of the story and forget that like over 60% of the people who love the work don’t give a damn about drama. Just people getting fucked up in fucked up ways, just as long as it doesn’t happen to the supporting cast. There a broader reason to why a character like Goku, Superman, ect can’t stay dead.
the story has been going in that direction since the prison and Woodbury. like I said, a lot of people have died especially in the prison and people got hella pissed once Tyresse died especially HOW. I just think Kirkman is an epic troll who’s good at disguising it.
