To me the whole airborne virus thing actually makes way more sense than the typical “bitten or scratched” method of infection in just about every other zombie story. Never made sense to me that in your typical zombie story, the majority of people have turned to zombies, yet you see maybe 1 person go from bitten to zombie for every 20 people you see just get eaten to death and torn apart by zombies. How do such hordes even come to existence when people have to get bitten or scratched, but NOT ripped apart in the process to become full fledged zombies? You don’t see THAT many zombies with 1 leg, no arms, and their chest cavity emptied out.
I know I shouldn’t be too nit picky when it comes to zombies because lots of shit flagrantly defies logic, but I could never get over that.
Actually; in Romero’s universe you don’t have to be bitten to come back as a zombie. I know it was established for a fact in Land of the Dead, and way back in Night of the Living Dead with Johnny coming back without being bitten.
I’m just glad it’s not like 28 days Later/Planet Terror style where if their blood touches you then you’re infected.
I actually like that style because it makes everyone extra cautious of how they approach zombies, even slow ones. Becoming a zombie after you die really shouldn’t matter to anyone if you’re not conscious you’re a zombie. Then again, maybe you could use it to you’re advantage like strapping a bomb to a friend who’s about to die and waiting for him to get into a group of zombies heh.
This version of the zombie plague is actually scarier than the others. If all it took to turn into a zombie was to get bitten/scratched than it would only be a matter of time until control is established. Given the billions of people in the world all it takes is one guy to suddenly drop dead in a re-established community for the shit to hit the fan again.
Z-BO getting a lot of lines in this episode. He’s starting to get cocky though, wanting the bed & shit…We all know there can only be one token black guy at a time…First it was the black guy in beginning w/ his kid i think his name was Morgan. Tyrese is probably going to shows up soon to take Shane’s spot…I gotta feeling Darrels brother will be the one to kill Z-bo either next episode or the Season 3 premier…

Edit - Rick meets this group in Atlanta, and one of the first things T-Dog does is drop Meryl’s key and royally fuck him over.
And we wonder why T-Dog never does anything important anymore.
T-Dog was lucky enough to stay inside the house while rick and the others decided to go look for the Prisoner. That’s one lucky black man in a mess up world…

They do show up again, but a lot later. Like translated into seasons, it would be like season 4 or 5. But they aren’t slave to the comic, so it might make sense to bring him back in place of the other token black guy that should be showing up soon
