I’m enjoying the show and all but it’s really veering away from the comic. I’m worrying more and more we won’t see some of the awesome shit in live action.

Preview shows Shane and Rick in a flat out fight. Carl not going to kill Shane.
Black guy already exists so we won’t see the awesome black dude at the prison. What’s more, we won’t see his head get slowly chopped off.
At first, I thought they were tying things together more tightly. Like Darryl’s brother losing his hand, he’s clearly going to be the Govenor later on. Now though, I think they’re doing their own thing. I’m starting to think they’d never cut off Rick’s hand or show Lorie and a baby being blasted through the back with a shotgun. A damn shame if true. The special effects are pretty damn good but I think they’re saving all the gore specifically for zombies and not the living. [/details]

I actually like that they aren’t following the comic exactly. Otherwise there won’t be any surprises.
This way I get to enjoy both the comic and tv show while still seeing new material on both.

I just watched that first scene again and it made like zero sense. It’s kinda funny how everything was silly.
They’ve learned to not be loud, so what do they all do? YELL EVERYTHING THEY SAY. THIS WON’T ATTRACT MORE ZOMBIES.

It was funny how the guys constantly said “THERE ARE ROAMERS ALL OVER THE PLACE” and it took forever for allt he zombies to get there.
Then Glenn was fire shotgun shells at zombies like 100 yards away and shit and he was freaking out. It’s not like they were running or anything. Meanwhile Rick had a whole bunch of zombies right in his ass around a damn propane tank and was just popping them off one by one.
I feel bad for the show being so financially constrained. You know if this was on HBO that scene would have had an explosion and a shitload more zombies.
At least they are doing really well with the special effects when they are able to showcase them. Remember the drug store zombie that glenn killed? Man that was dope.
