just watched episode 4. what an awful piece of shit. kirkman needs to stick to comics and they should keep him away from the tv show.
Looking at the first 4 episodes, it’s crystalized in my mind that the tv show has basically magnified all of the problems of the comic (bawdy melodrama, heavy-handed messaging), while minimizing all of its good points (grim atmosphere, sense of danger, “anything-can-happen” feel).
Episode 4 is the “That was my dream” episode right? Yeah that one was pretty damn shitty.
Episode 5 was garbage too. This one was okay. That’s all, just okay.
You know, I thought ViciousSlash was just being picky when he said the comic was worlds better.
He wasn’t. My advice to everybody is not to start reading the comic cause it BLOWWWWS away the show. I can’t even watch the episodes any more cause of how it doesn’t do the comic any justice. Sadness.

Comic is better overall, no doubt, but really the show does still have some nice things to it. Shane, for one, is terribly interesting in the show compared to his comic counterpart, and if they’re planning on giving him the same fate as in the comics, it’ll be heavy. I can see it getting better as they refine it. I’ll still be watching.

Ah, what a great conclusion. Too bad it had to end. I rewatched some of the encore and Rick was right. The white guy was lying. Saying he had no control over opening and closing the door, yet he commanded the system to open and close it twice. He just didn’t want to

I also don’t see how a person can give all control to a computer system. Humans built computers, so it’s possible to override or hack the system. Also seem like the doctor wasn’t aware that the zombies can retain some memories like the black man’s wife and the dead girl who picked up her teddy bear.
Yeah usually I try not to get all nerd whiny about crap anymore. I don’t even argue about Nalto. But episodes 2-5 of this show were legit horrible at most points.
There are some good new things, like redneck guy, but most of the new stuff is like “Why is this here, why are you pacing this this way?”
I just wonder if they paced the first little season JUST like the first arc, how much more praise the show would be getting. I mean if it’s the BEST NEW SHOW ON EARTH!!! right now, what would happen if it was actually good?
Hopefully with the reset they can just get back to exactly how it was when they left the camp.

That guy being Shane. He is probably going to stick around the whole season. Arguing, trying to fuck lori, stupid crap to make for dumb TV tension. Like PG said, the show is throwing away two of the best parts of the comic. 1. That anything can happen at anytime and 2. That there are zombies in the damn show. ZOMBIES. It’s been replaced with whiny white crybaby drama. How is Rick like “You don’t know what it’s like out there man?” after like 5 days or something? The doctor knows exactly what it’s like. He just failed trying to fix what it was like. I guess Rick was drunk, whatever
If the second season sucks like 3 episodes in, I am out. This is heroes and Boondocks all over again. If Michonne/Tyrese is like Caeser and doesn’t show up like halfway through and they want to focus on crappy new black guy they’ve gayed it up.

I thought the finale was very good. The ended with the older guy and emo chic was a really good scene imo good acting. I think I know what the dr said. I agree with a few post above me. He saw what happened…

The finale was more like a regular episode. There’s ZERO hook for Season 2.
Watching shows like Dexter or Sons of Anarchy, it always KILLS me to have to wait until next year to see how the story progresses. With this finale, it just feels like I’m waiting for next week’s episode versus being on the edge until the next season.
