Any SSFIV AE scene in Southeast, specifically around Eastbourne/ Brighton?
Ok, really been trying to find a scene in South England.
People keep referring me to Neoempire, but after over a month of the site refusing to let me register, today it finally allowed me.
Then, an hour later, I received an email stating that i “did not meet the forums membership requirements, therefore your registration was deleted”.
Has anyone else had problems with Neoempire?
All I wanna do is find a local scene…
Any London players based in Notting Hill area, Ladbroke Grove, like KLJ or RandomHajile2 or SINITY in the SRK scene ANy1 that wants to play with me? I am currrently Under a Section 3 UK Mental Health Law with three hours leave to use unescorted as one person (Section 17) that can help a brother out,… post visit, play share, David Hanson asked for it, contact me on…02089640872
Just thought I’d take a moment to give a quick overview of the Scottish scene.
The scene has a decent amount of people playing. The main games are AE and UMVC3 mainly, but 3rd Strike and Skullgirls (arguably having the strongest scene in the UK) getting a showing lately. SFxT is not played, at all.
Strongest city by far for numbers, skill and probably games is Glasgow, if you count Hamilton as being part of that scene. After that you have Edinburgh, and Dundee.
The best site to check out is Versus-Scotland.co.uk, along with their facebook page. They stream ranbats and casuals on mondays and thursday on twitch.com/versusscotland
Heart of Gaming, an Organisation currently based in Potter’s Bar, North East London (15 minutes on the Train from King’s Cross, 9 minutes from Finsbury Park) This is a private Arcade and console lounge (VS cabinets, superguns, consoles) all games played, no politics. Dial (+44) (0)7516084005 is the number for Mark Starkey AKA Firebug. Prices are £5 for a day session per head, £10 for all day + night. They have every fighter really, request before hand if you want something special. Post on Neoempire.com, The place is run by Bullet Proof as well (Simeon, owner of Neoempire and Super Versus Battle + bare NEo Geo and SNK related stuff).
I’m really interested in this. Unfortunately Neoempire will not let me join. I have tried a dozen times, but always get an email back saying I “Do not meet their membership requirements”! I have also emailed the site admin every time to ask if they can explain, but have not received a single reply from them.
Any advice on how I may be able to join, in order to participate in Heart of Gaming?
Go to Heart of gaming, perhaps? Phone Mark Starkey and go to Heart of Gaming Arcade? I dunno, I’m not an admin… in fact I’m currently banned from that site cos teh forum admins (Gharling, Sendo, Imperial) are pretty much Mega Trolls haha… loads of top players like randomhajile2 & prodigal son dont even post there… just go casino on goodge street/tottenham court road, gamerbase in trocadero and HOG.
Sign up again and let me know what name you’re using.
Have just tried joining again, username is IgTerminals
Done.
If anyone else here has any problems with NE registration then tell me here or by PM.
Neo Empire is still a valid resource for finding out what is happening with the UK scene as it is a melting pot of regional events & communities. There is something tournament or casual related happening every week, so it’s worth checking out.

Bump for Ultimate Clash. I have my tickets.
Gonna get my arse kicked tho, as not only my 1st tournament, but my 1st offline session.
(And I suck.)
Hey Ho, still gonna be awesome. So looking forward to this.
Good luck dude.
There will be loads of stuff happening at the venue over the weekend, from anime conventions to money matches, so get yourself involved.
Cheers dude.
I’m there for the whole weekend. Is it worth bringing my stick along for the Saturday? Any casuals or anything happening on the sat?
I had no idea there was much happening in the UK. I need to try get in on some of this action
Anyone know of much happening in the south? Hampshire (Soton/Portsmouth)? I know there’s a bar called Orange Rooms running retro game tourneys and branching into SF, but they keep getting like 7-10 players for SF and we don’t buy a lot of drinks be honest haha, hopefully that will continue, but there’s not a lot else from what I’ve seen maybe I’ve missed it. I can’t travel to London very easily.
There’s a bi-weekly event in Brighton called ‘I Am Arcade’ which is worth a look.
Brighton is a reasonable distance, I’ll give it a look and see if I have time/money to come on down. Thanks for the heads up. Is there somewhere I can get more info on it? (Games, entry fee, location, etc)
Free entry.
Random games from Guilty Gear to Gameboy tetris. They’ll be a SF4 tournament there this Weds.

Middlesbrough.
Where you guys at?
Oh man that’d be sweet.
Unfortunately I’m at the Brain’s Eden Game Jam in Cambridge Friday-Monday and moving house on the Tuesday. So any spare moment I get away from work I’ll be packing. I’m also broke which doesn’t help haha. But I’ll be sure to try and bring a friend or two to the next one.
edit: Fuck, scratch that. Start 8pm, last train back to Soton is like 9:40 and it’s a lot further away than I thought.
edit: double-derp, last train is 11:30 but doesn’t roll into southampton until 3am. That’s frustrating no idea why it takes so long.
