The UMvC3 Tron Bonne Changes

I just found that a wallbounce assist can be used to set up three hypers like old Tron. Ill post up a video some other time.

When I booted up UMvC3 for the first time, I noticed she did seem a bit faster. I think from what I read, the recovery frames of some of her moves were decreased (such as her drill). Anyone with the guide want to confirm this?

You can do this with Tron/Sent/Nova pretty easily.

I am doing this from memory so if I fuck up, I apologize.

:a1: Drones
:a2: Centurion Rush

j. :h:, cr. :m:, st. :h:, s, j. :m:, j. :m:, j. :h:, j. :s:, (land), :a1:, cr. :h: XX :f::h:, Drones Hit, :h: Beacon Bomb, j. :h:, l :s:, (land), :m: Beacon Bomb, :a2:, s. :h:, :m: Beacon Bomb, King Kobun, s. :h:, King Kobun, s. :h: Lunch Time, Bitches

Does 1.1 mil or something like that. I think this can be done midscreen with tinkering. The damn HSD really messes with her too much. I am trying to figture out a combo that will build enough meter to cover2/3 of the meter required for that combo. I think that version builds about 1.5 bars.

I actually believe that Tron, Sent, Nova is pretty decent. I know Sent + Nova allows you to do Sent’s old HSF -> Rocket Punch -> Plasma Storm Combos in the corner and the Rush offers Tron an additional way to open the opponent up provided you can get near them.

And here are the combos below: As you can see by moving back you can take advantage of Tron’s knockback on the H to setup another King Servbot.

Yea i heard something about that but it only seems to be the ground drill.

Had a lot of fun zoning out a haggar with her servbots and nova pulse assist last night lol.

I was hoping that would work. I haven’t actually seen the soul stealing shots so I didn’t know if they were quick enough to actually connect. Back in vanilla I just used the lunch rush to keep the opponent in place to do sweep > mixup.

You guys try the new missions yet? Mission 10 is particularly enlightening - when j.S is done late enough in a jump combo (flame xx j.M, j.H, j.S), you can combo a st.M after it without using the groundbounce. Works midscreen, and results in much better spacing - j.S will catch them short before j.H sends them flying.

Also, Beacon Bomb works for doing the double groundbounce trick with Deadpool assist.

lol ive been doing the exact same thing. The Soul Fist assist kinda does a good job of covering Tron, no?

Not sure if this tech is old or not and if it’s actually useful for anything, but what the hey I may as well post it.

If you DHC King Servbot into either Nova’s POWER OF THE NOVA FORCE or Super Skrull’s INFERNOOOOOO before the servbot gets big but after Miss Tron says King, the servbot will actually stop growing while Inferno or Super Nova is playing out. After either super stops, the servbot will grow big and then proceed to smash the enemy into tiny bits while Nova or Skrull are free to do whatever. You can tag in whoever you want, use an assist, do one more YELLING super, etc. You can’t raw tag Tron and then use Beacon Bomb H or L though, but then again I’m pretty bleh at this game so it’s probably me sucking or something.

The catch is that Inferno or Super Nova have to hit the opponent in order for the servbot to not grow, but God knows why you would DHC King Servbot from full screen or whatever. This also works if the opponent’s blocking either super so if the opponent doesn’t know about this, you can actually catch them by surprise and then have Nova or Skrull do grown ass man damage from there. I wouldn’t use this too much because there are plenty of ways the opponent can escape from it.

Oh and this is really hard to combo off from if you Beacon Bomb H the opponent from drones, but it’s possible. I don’t think you can do this from Jam Session though.

…Actually I use the meter assist because I am super brave/incredibly stupid and run Tron without a cheap assist as backup. The meter assist is more for Viper than Tron though. How do you use soul fist to cover Tron?

Call Morri > Dash in with Tron and do stuff. The Soul Fist follows directly behind Tron so if she does something unsafe itll cover her, you can also use it to extend select combos.

That’s some awesome stuff, man. I learned a lot from that video. Hopefully I’ll be able to apply the new stuff I learned in a real match once I finally kick my Vanilla Tron habits and get better in general.

The video also pretty much solidified Nova as a mainstay in my Tron team. Now I just gotta find me a good anchor.

Ah, standard beam way. I was just worried it was less safe than the typical beam assist. I really wish they added meter drain to that assist but then I suppose it’d probably outclass her meter gain assist anyway…

The problem is that for two assists + a DHC + the fact that level 4/5 Frank is there, the damage is not that good. Especially considering she could break that solo in Vanilla easily. Also, you have to factor in that Tron getting a confirm at all is insanely hard in the first place. Sorry if I sound like a pessimist, but she’s just…not good.

well…

Having two assists in a combo is just the nature of running her on point, imo she’s not viable anywhere else now that her assist strengths are limited.

The DHC + getting level 4/5 frank is just specific to my team, not to Tron. Other teams can set her up to use King Kobun for more damage, I just prefer to use the meter she builds to guarantee my Frank is at his best.

Tron’s damage output is pretty good in this game. I don’t know why people like to compare to her output in Vanilla because she could just DHC trick and kill anyone for 2 self-sufficient bars. In this game where many characters have around 800 health or lower and where meter building and hitstun decay are more strict, I think Tron does a decent job.

Yeah you’re right, Tron getting a confirm is hard to begin with. I try to highlight in the video that even on block she has tools with the right assists to keep pressure going and some hard to defend setups, and that ANY hit/throw/whatever can lead to corner position and 600+k.

While I’m not saying Tron is a great character by any means, I do encourage players like myself who were most comfortable with Tron but discouraged by her new changes to stick to her.

I just noticed that the Tron forums arent really well organized right now, we should look into fixing that soon.

Another thing that tron still has from vanilla that not alot of people talk about is the best super for incoming chars with king kobun. It is not only unescapeable if done properly it allows for insane mixups or unblockables. It is way better than the round harvest unblockable setup with trish. Depending on how ur team is composed with tron i still think she offers the most bang for your buck.

Yea, I think she has awesome options on incoming chars after a KO or snapback. I’m going to experiment with that King Kobun setup!
