Let’s cut the shit alright. Gen is fine. Xian spent a long-ass time working on this character, competing all over the world, studying his opponents and training like a dog to bring this previously ignored character all the way to the top of Evo.

Leave the fucking character alone.

Xian also says a lot of bullshit regarding tiers, should we listen to that aswell? Gen is fine, honestly if he gets no buffs or nerfs I’d still be very happy. Unfortunately that isn’t going to happen if past situations like these are anything to go by.

Super into Ultra wasn’t even talked about untill Xian won some majors. Now all of a sudden scrubs are looking for reasons to downgrade stuff, forgetting that you first need the super bar (once a game usually) and it still takes a good player to actually hitconfirm it against a good player who knows his shit. Now Tokido had no idea what to do against Gen since all he did was air FB and everytime he did one that could be punished I cringed so hard I pooped my pants…repeatedly.

Cammy’s is 24 Chun li’s backdash distance is 13 and Rose’s is 12(excluding focus backdash which pushes her character a little further back). And all of their total frames amount to 22.

–EX spiral is a great buff. I just hope that they don’t neglect other issues like her meterless combo completion.

–And I didn’t say that Rose’s AAs were situational they just felt inconsistent. And the inconsistency comment is directed at her cr.hp. At least with far HP I expect it to trade and when it doesn’t I’m pleasantly surprised. But cr.hp needs the hitbox to stay with the scarf. If someone neutral jumps right in front of me and I cr.hp sometimes it flat out misses other times it hits. Same for combos sometimes cl.mk > cr. hp hits other times it just flat out whiffs same character too so there isn’t any strange CH issues like different reel back. I’ve switched to exclusively using cl.MK > cr.MP > xx.

– And I don’t think that 3 frame dp comment was for me but since most of this seemed to be directed at me, but I might as well respond. I play Makoto and Rose dude and I’ve never played Ryu, Ken, or shoto with strong meterless reversals in any street Fighter. I’m pretty certain you’re a prominent Rose player so you’re used to her tools. But just try online for one day and pick Juri and cr.MP or makoto and cr.mk or Sakura cr.HP. It’s almost liberating to hit every single jump attempt when compared to Rose.

– Tbh I couldn’t care if they made cr.mp +3 on hit and change nothing on block. Or even if they left it as an untrue blockstring. I just think it sucks to have to spend 1 meter just to complete a combo or else I’d get an 80+25 chip damage “combo”.

If capcom listened to us they probably buffed the hitbox on her anti air because it doesnt cover the entire tip of the scarf.
What they need to do is make her pokes more damaging so she seems like she is a threat when controlling space.

Gen is supposedly getting buffed and I’m happy about it. It really doesn’t matter how powerful he gets (btw he is certainly not top tier atm), you aren’t going to see a bunch of Gens. Why, he’s an old man without a huge fanbase, and he’s easily the hardest character to play.

Source on the Gen buffs please.

Philipino champ supposedly said it on his stream along with all the other changes he mentioned. He did say that Xian winning EVO with Gen may cause some of those buffs to be recalled, however.

Lol, buff “recall” for winning. Everybody sandbag with your characters so that none of the buffs/good changes get recalled.

Yeah I was torn with Chris Hu making it out of pools with Oni, cause maybe that would slightly reduce his buffs. However I can take comfort that Oni has never won any singles anything or even placed top 8.

I don’t think Chris Hu making it out of pools would “slightly reduce” or have any effect whatsoever on his buffs.

Honestly I’m not hoping of a tremendous damage buff for Rose. She has to many tools that makes her be able to fight at different ranges / different situations, etc.

that’s another thing I hope they fix for Rose: her wonky hitboxes on cl.MK and cr.HP:

its really annoying >_>

I understand the different you are trying to show me with Juri’s cr.mp but I guess this is the price Rose has to pay off for being having so many different AAs. (screw Sakura tho lol)

Season’s Beatings Summerslam 2012

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012
Results

1st – WW.MCZ Infiltration (Akuma, Hakan, Ryu, Gouken)
2nd – PR Balrog (Balrog)
3rd – coL.CC| Combofiend (Oni)
4th – EG| Ricky Ortiz (Rufus)
5th – BT|Dieminion (Guile)
5th – WW.MCZ Laugh (Ryu)
7th – coL.CC| Mike Ross (E.Honda)
7th – TFA RZR BananaKen (Ken)

But I agree, “I don’t think Chris Hu making it out of pools would “slightly reduce” or have any effect whatsoever on his buffs.”

Is season’s beatings summerslam a major tournament? There are some big names there.

I was happy to see Yun get his ass whoop’d (Kazunoko’s & Xiaohai) maybe they took notes. Hopefully Yun and Viper get tiny buffs, even though they don’t need them so I could win matches chillen mode. If they stay the same that’s completly fine. The Yun-akuma match up will be easy mode in Ultra… I heard some Capcom people we’re taking lowkey notes during UmvC3… Yes! Hopefully they saw how over used Vergil and Doom are:D

Not only that, but Combofiend made it top 8 at Revelations 2012 with Oni.

And Chris Hu not only made it out of pools at Evo, he finnished top 32 - which is a great performance.

Damn Combofiend is impressive, it. He seems like he would be one of those guys who would be in the backyard drinking and talking at a friends party, rather than drinking and playing games at the party. Same goes for gootecks and mike ross… What I mean is it hardly seems like he practices. Lol
Meanwhile … people are running sets inside… haha’

Hugo? WTF? We don’t need another character bigger than the RUSSIAN GIANT.

Haha

Tall = El Fuerte
Grande = Zangief
Venti = Hugo

A grappler for everybody :slight_smile: They’re still missing one though…

http://thefightingconnection.com/sites/default/files/characters/profile/alex-profile_0.jpg

This just in: comeback mechanics are cheap. They’re super cheap on characters that have some way of stockpiling meter, instead of using it to make their arguably craptastic moveset somewhat stronger. Let’s forget about all of the potential damage lost through the rounds, and just concentrate on when that miracle touch happens in one lump sum, praying that it actually kills the opponent.

Super > Ultra is cheap, while shoryu/uppercut (trade!) > Ultra is not.

Get real. They actually want people playing the diverse grapplers already in the game. If they put Alex in, nobody would play any other grappler.
