PSO 2? MY NIGGA you know I’m jelly right? Oh man I can’t wait for that shit to come out.
Yeah Ika though, I have a feeling you might like that video simply because of how raw everyone in this lobby is as well how hard I go in it. Still trying to figure out how to record my voice as well. lol
Oh another thing is that I’m coming out with my first vlog soon too so look forward to that
So I was wondering, how do you guys feel about the hawkeye match-up? Im actually a trish/sent/hawkeye player, but since trish gets bodied extensively by magneto I was wondering how hawkeye handled the match-up(but the hawkeye threads are kinda dead) so figured id just ask here.
I believe it’s a 5-5 match up being that if you’re playing magneto and you keep in the air with magnetic blasts then you should have no problem, but there’s also the problem of greyhound and scattershot.
Now in terms of fighting with assists I would say 6-4 in Magneto’s favor simply because if you have missiles/beam assist and your in the air shooting down magnetic blasts Hawkeye can’t do shit, but a reaction Gimlet and even then he’s gonna eat Missiles, Drones(when Sentinel isn’t hit), Beam assist and you have better recovery to punish him with in that situation.
Okay, so the magnus I play against plays magnus/sentinel, and id be playing hawkeye/sentinel. So what if I did st.:h:(the straight arrow shot) and cancelled it into the parabolic shot, that should cover both the assist(whoever it is) and magnus unless Im mistaken. Plus I think the parabolic shot causes a soft knockdown so that should lead into a combo on it.
But if it truly is a 5-5 then I guess Im gonna start starting hawk against any magneto’s I run into since its just a pain in the ass for trish, I actually think its better for sentinel than it is for trish tbh because at least sent has a tool to cause horizontal pressure and on top of that, sent kills magnus in one hit unlike trish. But thats another story for another day.
Thats all I needed, don’t know why the thought of switching up my order never crossed my mind, now I gotta work on those lvl 3 x-factor combos with trish though.
Honestly Hawkeye gives me major headaches. The matchup would only get more infuriating with Peekaboo assist backing him up. So yea I would switch them because at worst he’ll do better than Trish at her best. Magneto bodies that chick free at both zoning and rushdown
is Joker around here? I found a slight variation of his Doom+hypergrav combo extension that he might be interested in. it does more damage and it looks (IMO) cooler. will put it up tomorrow
(And I know this is mostly doom tech, but there’s so much people running these two together that I feel it’s fair to show it here. Also, friggin doom forums scare me)
Yep I do that already, I just posted a vid a page or two back showcasing his air Disruptor -> Magnetic Tempest link. It really puzzles me when Magneto players end their combo with Hyper Grav -> Tempest because you get quite a bit of meter and damage from extending it. Its not even hard to do.
As for Morrigan and Magneto tech I’ve only dabbled. I mainly just use Disruptor to help zone or take out Sent/Doom when called as an assist. I’ve experimented with Hyper Grav Assist and made a sweet meter stealing combo with it, but I’m not so sure I want to give up Disruptor.
I’ve also messed around with Hyper Grav -> Raw Tag, but I only find it valuable after grabs in the corner. Any other time I’m getting more damage by doing Tempest -> Missiles -> Shadowblade Hx2. That gives me 1mil right there, but if I hard tag I end up getting slightly over 900k. With that said do you prefer to run Magneto or Morrigan on point?
So yeah I’ve figured out that Magneto/Vergil fight is heavily in Magneto’s favor, but if and only when your Magneto is aggressive. Obviously, if you stay away too long, then he’ll start summoning assists to get in your away so, make sure that shit don’t happen and he’s a dead man.
Also, I’ve slowly come to the realization that Magnetic Blast is a very powerful, yet underused tool and if more people take advantage of this, then the Vergil match up (and maybe every match up, save for Ammy, Task and Wesker who can counter this) is nothing more than simply if & when you’re able to hit confirm off of any Magnetic Blast you throw out.
That shouldn’t be too hard since Vergil is just a frail as Magneto, but slower.
I ran extensive lab time on finding the most damage on a doom extension; the hardest, but most damage I squeeze out that far into a combo was j. Hblast, st. S, tk Lgrav. Did you find something else?
Sometimes I switch points, but I mostly run Mags first, and on average I use it to safely get magneto out while still doing damage and gaining meter. Plus there is plenty of mixup off of it as well. A simple one is: dp L xx fly unfly + A1. Low Air Recovery. Here they have the choice of: hit a button or block disruptor. On hit is easy confirm into combo, and on block you can do a crap ton of mixup, be it high/low or command grab.
I think its 5-5. Either one can one-touch the other, and Vergil can defend with well placed dimension cuts/normals eating blast.
I can agree that blast is very powerful and was underused by me. Uncertain Blast pushblocks generally lead into fuzzy guard + drones = yeah good luck blocking me son.
I’ll say one thing about Joker. He really doesn’t play against people or teams that can and will easily one-touch his magneto, he gets away with too much.
Both Hypnawtik and Infrit can easily kill my mags off most confirms, and depending on meter, ANY confirm.
Aaaaaaaah yeeeeeeaaaaah. And it’s swagging. Should put it up an hour or so from now. just waiting on peeps to get out the house so i can start mashing away on the stick.
Wait, you’re talking about missiles extension right?
My bad, I was talking about a Magneto assist extension using Doom, misunderstanding here xD (the one you said is the most damaging I’ve seen too. It’s also pretty hard, i only do :s: xx l hyper grav )
