Oh, btw, even if you do the whole flight combo stuff, you can still get :h: :s: on the relaunch, then OTG Dark Dimension. its JUST fast enough. also, resets can be good too.

maybe for some comboes but I have noticed a huge nerf to the stock combo I used to do, I can no longer get my 1 mill health bnb to work, they drop out of the first hit of my CF, if I am only getting 1 hit, its not the hit box issue for me. I really wish I could record this and show what happening. I’ll replicate it in text

I just did some more testing on Vergil. I think you have to quickly cancel the Purification into Chaotic Flame to get it out and not have anyone fall out.

You guys do good work. I’d like for you to get your dues, otherwise Bradygames might not think this is a worthwhile endeavor again. I’m sure convincing them to give you 600 pages wasn’t easy.

Chaotic Flame’s hitbox was definitely nerfed. I had Captain America flying out of Purification -> Chaotic Flame in the corner unless I canceled as early as possible, Shuma-Gorath style. Captain America has never done this, ever, in Vanilla.

Anyway, some hyperbolic good news! Dormammu has the best “get off me” in the game. I was messing with aerial Liberations, and I THINK that no matter what, as long as you can finish the first 13 frames of Dormammu’s aerial teleport, 1-frame activated Liberations are guaranteed to come out. For example, here was the test I ran:

  1. Record Wolverine doing Swiss Cheese for 6 seconds straight.
  2. Charge 2D1C.
  3. Stand right next to Wolverine.
  4. Play the Swiss Cheese recording right as I superjump.
  5. Aerial Liberate 2D1C.
  6. Dormammu teleports to the ground, gets hit immediately, but 2D1C still comes out, giving Dormammu a full combo on Wolverine with a relaunch assist.

Dormammu might have a 100% safe way to come down! Block or else, opponents! This also works with 1D2C, but it wasn’t as fruitful. 2D1C in this way gave me about 220K damage alone.

Do you think Capcom may patch this in the future? I mean, the CF hitbox nerf does affect how we have to quickly cancel Purification -> Chaotic Flame.

I love the change for the 2D1C and 2C1D Liberations to come out when you’re hit. I do agree that that the 2C1D Liberation isn’t useful when you’re being hit from close. Great find!

What do you think of a surprise air 3D0C after tricking people with teleports? I remember doing a few teleports against my friend and then all of a sudden, I do air 3D0C and caught him off-guard.

It would be nice…I don’t understand why Capcom changed it at all. When was there ever a problem with Chaotic Flame’s hitbox?

3D0C doesn’t go off unless Dormammu gets all 15 starting frames, so it won’t be as safe as the other two. Personally, I didn’t use 3D0C that much already in Vanilla - I strongly prefer getting a ton of chip and two more Dark Spells via 1D2C in most cases. I’d use 3D0C if my opponent is anchoring a beam character and I want to random him out. I think the new 1D2C has awesome tricks waiting to be found. For example, if Trish is superjumping and laying traps, Mass Change M, then Liberate under her - wham! Maybe it works better in my head than reality though, hahaha.

2D1C was always my favorite Liberation visually. Now I have a good reason to use it more! It’s going to be my anti-teleporter Liberation.

How in the hell does Masta CJ do those crazy air dashes with Dormammu? I’ve been working at it for hours now.

what’s the typical triange jump inputs you guys use for dorm? I do sj., dash forward, H, but it’s tricky to time the dash right.

How do you guys feel about Ammy/Nemmy/Dorm? I don’t have UMvC3 yet, but I plan on running this team and just wanted some feedback.

I mix it up between sj.H and L and whiffs here and there to sneak in a low.

I try my best not to have a game plan when it comes to my tri jumps.

Thought I’d ask here since I’m trying to learn Dorm with my Task/Hawkeye team. I’m really wondering if any of you guys use Task and Dorm together. I’m trying to use Dormammu’s assist (been trying Dark Hole) to relaunch with Taskmaster’s OTG arrows, but the Dark Hole is always slightly off screen and rarely connects. It sometimes does however, but I’m wondering if it’s all character specific, if I need to try and find a way to take a few steps away from the corner, or if I can just time the arrows as I fall differently… anybody have ideas?

So for the sj.H, what directions? sj + up, then dash forward + H?
Then for the sj. L trijump, like sj. UpForward, dash DownForward + L?

And does everyone use an otg assist for dorm? ATM I’m running: Dorm (BH), X23(CS)/Firebrand(whatever), Strange(EoA), and so far the only person I’m permanently keeping on my team is Dorm, so I never even bothered to learn any assist combos for him since I haven’t nailed down a decent team yet.

I don’t think a relaunch assist is necessary for Dormammu unless you’re 100% playing him as rushdown.

This thread is beautiful, really, just stand up job. I wish all the character threads were this detailed.

Then what do you use as his bnb combo (no XF, and 1-2 meters) if you don’t mind me asking? I haven’t changed my combo from Vanilla, not sure if i need to honestly, but it’d be nice if there was some way to TOD someone without XF or an assist with dorm.

Oh, I just use a general magic series right now. I haven’t had much time to play, and what time I do have has been focused on:

  1. Learning Firebrand.
  2. Figuring out team synergy.
  3. Learning Morrigan.
  4. Setups.

Something as small as a bnb combo comes waaay late for me. I care a lot more about learning how to land a hit and handle my character than squeezing another 100K damage out of my bnbs. I’m not even sure which assists I prefer still! In a very rare case, Purification assist is actually solid for my team. Probably not good enough, though, since Dark Hole guarantees an unblockable for Firebrand against like 70% of the cast.

Today i got my copy of the game.
It’s no longer possible to relaunch in the corner with any of the Zero assists :frowning:
