Very nice. I should practice these air throw combos. And yes, his trijump L -> cr. L mix-up is godly when done correctly.
I already do these when i have the chance and extend with drones , as i fall u can get another H, S , and it gives hard knockdown
Yeah its pretty easy to do, you just gotta time the dash right.
Yeah you can get up to 750k+ with drones and 2D1C used during the combo, thats ridiculous for a grab and one meter lol
How many times carpet hits is dependent on the carpet’s spacing in relation to the other character’s hit box. I uploaded a video in the video thread that shows the carpet relaunch with a list of all the characters it works on and the variations required for different size classes. The method in the video doesn’t work on a few characters, but it is worth checking out.
Just created a new Dormammu tutorial. Check it out if you’re interested!

Nice stuff Linklikr. I’ve been busy with school, but if you want to put together a collection of things you’ve done that you think are worth including in the main guide, I’d be glad to put it all in there and give you credit. In particular, if you want to separate your fancy Stalking Flare combos into individual videos, I’d be glad to put them all in.
Lol, i’ve been wanting to play Dorm for a long time ( one of the first characters in Ultimate I wanted to pick up ), but I always got mauled insanely hard. Some of that Fireball juggling stuff looks very troll-worthy though, probably going to inspire me to put in some time in the lab with Dormington.
Is it me or does Dormammu work the best as an anchor, being held off until the other two characters die or are at low health.
also is it weird that I go out of my way to have the finishing blow be power of the destructor lv3?
that or if I have 2 or more levels built up I throw out as many Stalking Flare’s as I can and watch the opponent run away and get chipped to death.
I think he’s best 2nd overall with a battery character to help build meter for him. By himself, if someone saves X-Factor for him, his chip game gets negated. His rushdown game doesn’t seem that good by himself either. Dorm is still a top anchor though, since if he gets you in one good mixup, you’re dead and also possibly the rest of your team…
What exactly to you mean separate them into their own video? like one combo per video or what? I’m not entirely sure what you are asking for here
Couldn’t agree with you more.
Dorm is so scary 2nd. As you mentioned your point character building meter for him and he’s a great DHC. On top of that he comes in with meter with (hopefully) a solid assist to back him up. So much more annoying when he has an assist helping him to open folks up.
That, sir, is exactly what I am requesting. One combo per video, if you’re interested.
X / Dorm / Dante and X / Dorm / Mags are both really good shells IMO. X just needs to be a fairly self-sufficient character that DHCs well with Dorm. The anchor provides both Dorm and the point character with a solid, dependable assist. If that plan goes sour, Dorm still has access to one of his best assists. I know FlyingVe came up with a Firebrand variant of this team that uses Liberation and Jam Session to get 3 reps of the snapback loop. But if you wanted a more Dorm-centric version of the team, a lot of other point characters could work too.
That vid really helps with normal jumps, but how do you convert off super jump air throw tho? the opponent always lands before me
um ok sure why not, so like a few of my greatest creations in their own video? ill do like 5 ish i guess involving different tech
Dash diagonally to the ground in your falling oponents direction, this is shown in my new tutorial a few comments up
yeah i watched it once already but i definitely missed that part. Watching it again you explained it plain and simple. Thanks, great tutorial btw.
whats an easy scrub-ass team with dorm?
dorm - ??? - wesker?
I’d think Dorm/Wesker/Mags fits the bill for “an easy scrub-ass team.” Flowchart it up with Dorm on point, and if he goes down you get XF2 Wesker + beam assist. Magneto makes for a very solid anchor (much moreso than other beam assist characters) and can clean up in XF3 if need be. It’s fairly snapback-resilient too and can run in several orders (Masta CJ used to run Dorm/Mags/Wesker; Wentinel runs Wesker/Dorm/Mags).
The solid assist definitely needs to be stressed. I still think Dorm works well in any spot. I’m testing a Dorm/Dante/Magneto since I think that’s his best team if you’re playing him on point. Though you can insert the other two trenchcoats on the 2nd slot into the team.
I think Taskmaster is one character fits the X role perfectly for Dorm. DHCing Dorm in from Task works because of Task’s corner-carry combos.
